So this is the last one?

Ok.  Hope in OSU's next game they get the same treatment Michigan just received.  I hope they understand that those were and/or were not penalties, just as we have been told.

The blog becomes gutless?  This story is gaining traction nationally.

USA Today even posted a story today about the Big Ten burrying its head in the sand and now this site wants to conclude the matter as well?

Not that I was going to start a new thread about refs, but this decree from on high rankles.  For the record, the three turnovers (-7 points for us, +14 points for them) contributed much more to the loss than the biased refs.  However, the refs put their thumb on the scales when it mattered most, after we had overcome all that, and information keeps coming out about them and what a travesty it was that they were assigned this game in the first place.                                                                                                                                                                                                                           What if three years ago you had ordained there be no more Dave Brandon threads?  No more threads questioning Hoke?  You started this blog, and we are all grateful.  It doesn't mean you can control the content.  This is the single biggest issue for Michigan fans right now.  Unrealistic to expect everyone will stop talking about it because you say they must.

He can certainly ensure there is no more discussion HERE about refereeing.  It's his blog and it's his rules.

FWIW I think much of his distain for these threads has to do with how he views officiating issues in general.  I know through the years he and I have disagreed on officiating issues with Brian attributing anomolies usually to either incompetence or simply luck (or rather no luck) of the draw while I've been far quicker to attribute it to malice with intent.

As a guest in this blog "house" I will abide by Brian's rules even if I disagree with them.  If you feel real strongly about the issue there are lots of other places you can express yourself with like minded fans.

to believe that malice and intent do not exist in "poor" officiating.

It has existed, still exists and nearly destroyed boxing.

It cost the Sacramento Kings against the Lakers - ref later caught in a mob gambling ring

Has existed in point shaving in multiple sports'

These Ohio "refs" include self admitted fans of the team as well as one who had previously been suspended.  Why bury our heads in the sand about a very real and obvious issue.

My eyes were not deceiving me on Saturday and many unbiased neutral observers have echoed the same.

Interesting. I was expecting that we would see a front-page piece that addressed the spot in detail. I realize it's been touched on, but I thought it deserved more attention here, both because of the importance of the issue and to refute some of the misinformation and doctored images floating around. Also, when I see posts about this elsewhere, there seems to be a rather consistent misunderstanding of the rule -- people assume the spot should be the point where forward progress ends rather than where the ball is when the play is blown dead. This blog could do a huge public service by setting people straight on that.

If any of us still has something to say, it will probably do a lot more good elsewhere. on more national forums rather than just among us Michigan fans anyway.

The only thing that NEEDS to be answered is why OSU fans were officiating the game? I can't help but think the Big Ten allowed this because Michigan strait up said "haha nope" To there stupid Friday night games. Crooked ass shit I tell ya!!

I think Brian should step up just as he stepped up in front of president house leading the protest stduents to call out Dave Bradon.

It's time for Brian to lead us to another glory, completely over turn the NCAA referee system. It should happen in all sports, not only football and baskettball.

Even Ira called out the BIG high rank director of officating this morning. Brain and co. need to lead us to translate this to action.

For example, implement to UFR to grade referee performance, Michigan fan set up signes in every basketball game and football game to protest the BIG referees and director, commisioner, etc. Voice out in every channel and make it last long.

first, my stupid alma mater does something indefensibly stupid again and it gets its own thread on mgoblog and is locked before I see it to comment on how even LU alums hate what the administration is doing in a variety of ways. But now...I can't make a response to a response to a response to a response to the Lorax Error thread. Fuck. Also, he was short.

Not a fan of referring threads after Sunday. I guess people need to get over it. But don't like Brian being short on this. His blog his rules I guess. Wherever I turn someone controls the situation whether it is fair or not. That's life. A little disappointed but moving on.

He said no more threads.

Like a good coach, he is looking out for his team, who should not have to delete a hundred similar threads.

So find an existing thread, and comment there!

I get it that officiating threads are getting old. But this fan base is more angry about officiating than I've ever seen it in 40 years of being a fan. These are things that I've gathered just not from Mgoblog, but also from pub talks and old friends. And um, me. Furious is just a starting adjective. So I suspect whether we have new threads or not, the discussion will continue. You might want to figure out how to channel the energy. Because its there, and (I know you agree) it matters.
