Gee I can’t remember. Which game was that?

Are defenses playing well in PSU game or offenses suck?
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:18 PM ^
So far, just a slap-fight. PSU pass game, picking up.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:20 PM ^
The line sucks. But, also I don't see an advanced playsheet. Michigan will make you dizzy in the run game. Ohio State will do the same in the passing game.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
Fuck Ohio. Running up score on defenseless Iowa “to get CJ stroud some confidence” lol
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
....and some Heisman votes.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:55 PM ^
Stroud would be such a weak heisman. Some of these QB’s on these stacked teams are so overhyped. They might as well be splitting the trophy with the whole offense and to some degree even the D for the complementary help they provide. We see it all the time when they get to the NFL and struggle. This is when we all agree they had inflated stats because of all of the talent around them. If that’s the case that should come into consideration when giving out the heisman. Receivers and excellent game changing defenders should get way more love. Smith at Bama was the first receiver to win since our very own Desmond Howard.

Every time I watch a Penn State home game, I hate their chintzy minor league hockey atmosphere just a little bit more.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
Well said.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
I'd love to see PSU lose tonight. Michigan doesn't need any validation from teams we beat. We are a proven quantity.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
Just the same, I was glad to see Maryland pull out a win over Northwestern with their backup QB.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:28 PM ^
At the moment, Minnesota / Penn State is testing the theoretical limits of a Big Ten game, right down to the field goals and inconsistent execution on even the simplest of things.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:29 PM ^
That catch by K-State!

The White Out is Mickey Mouse
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:34 PM ^
Drink, every time they say, “white-out”. You’ll be drunk in five minutes.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:38 PM ^
Alcohol poisoning
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:34 PM ^
PSU should stop doing White Out..7-6 record is terrible.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
Maybe they should save it for only games against west division
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:38 PM ^
To be fair, they're generally not playing Temple. Instead, a lot of Michigan and Ohio State. Here's from the Wikipedia article:
YearOpponentPenn State result
2005No. 6 Ohio StateW 17–10
2007Notre DameW 31–10
2012No. 9 Ohio StateL 23–35

2014No. 13 Ohio StateL 24–31 (2OT)
2016No. 2 Ohio StateW 24-21
2018No. 4 Ohio StateL 26–27
2020No White Out game due to COVID-19 pandemicN/A

Clifford is still the only warrior they have.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
I like the PSU unis with the helmet numbers and pants strips. Not too flashy, but not as boring as the regular unis.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:21 PM ^
Is that supposed to be their throwback uniform, or their edgy, new-school, Oregon-esque uniformz?
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
Mohamed Ibrahim is great but I think we're seeing the answer to the question "Why can't they just build the whole plane out of the black box?".
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:50 PM ^
I have no idea what that means, but it sounds insightful.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:29 PM ^
Aircraft contain "black boxes", devices intended to record flight data. They're very durable, intended to survive in the event of a plane crash so investigators can study the recorded behavior of the plane and crew and determine what caused the crash. This leads to smartasses suggesting that you build the whole plane out of whatever the black box is made out of, presumably so it too will survive a crash.
Mohamed Ibrahim is a weapon but as of my post Minnesota had one completed pass, and were using every other down to just feed him the ball to the tune of 2.something yards per carry. You can't build a whole plane out of a black box and you can't build a functional offense out of one good running back.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
PSU is starting to take over this game.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:48 PM ^
Is Minnesota oline having trouble hearing or is Penn St cheating with cadence again?
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:54 PM ^
Looks like their coach is all up into the refs asking that exact question
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:49 PM ^
We will learn absolutely nothing about how good or not good Penn State is from this game. Minny is completely handcuffed at QB. They are not any kind of test at all.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:54 PM ^
I am looking to see if PSU can actually run the ball or stop the run.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:54 PM ^
Just like we saw “how great” OSU’s defense was today.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:52 PM ^
PSU's last few runs they've looked like Michigan last week. That doesn't say much about Minnesota...
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:56 PM ^
A hold by the LG was just let go. Could see the DT come through and then go backwards. B1G refs are terrible!
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:56 PM ^
Hilarious hold missed on that TD. The Minnesota lineman was disrobed.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:56 PM ^
Surprised PSU line not called for a hold, jersey was pulled about three feet
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
LOTS of home cooking like this at Clemson today was well. Barf.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:59 PM ^
I think Texas ended up with 14 penalties for 120 some yards while OK State had none.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:00 PM ^
This scares me for our nemesis in late November.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:02 PM ^
Most of that was self-inflicted procedure and formation related, not home cooking malfeasance. UT just played like ass for large chunks of the day. Especially in the 2nd half.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:21 PM ^
UT is always incredibly sloppy because they're coached by Sloppy Sark. Worthy is a dynamite player. Too bad he bet on the wrong team.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:09 PM ^
Between this and the USC/Utah game where the refs did everything they could for USC, we're seeing the effect of the playoffs and the money it means to conferences, on these games.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:56 PM ^
So PSU isn't complete ass. That's good for our SOS.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:04 PM ^
Let’s hope so for the PSU vs OSU matchup. I’d pull for PSU every time.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
How on earth was there no holding call there. Minnesota guy's jersey was a solid two feet from his body from being grabbed.
October 22nd, 2022 at 8:59 PM ^
PSU could give OSU a game next week. Good corners matches up with OSU's strength, and I think PSU has enough talent on the D line to stop the OSU ground game (UM's ground game is way more schematically involved than OSU's)
The question is can PSU score any points, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a competitive game. When OSU WRs aren't getting embarrassingly wide open on every play, that offense looks a lot less intimidating as we saw today
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:07 PM ^
Key for PSU would be if they can run the ball against OSU and how good OSU defense really is. Clifford will make enough plays. We know that. But if PSU does not control the game, OSU will eventually score in bunches.
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:01 PM ^
How is it Fleck can't manage to win the Big Ten West after all this time?
October 22nd, 2022 at 9:06 PM ^
I think it has something to do with being a Golden Gopher.
