Stroud would be such a weak heisman. Some of these QB’s on these stacked teams are so overhyped. They might as well be splitting the trophy with the whole offense and to some degree even the D for the complementary help they provide. We see it all the time when they get to the NFL and struggle. This is when we all agree they had inflated stats because of all of the talent around them. If that’s the case that should come into consideration when giving out the heisman. Receivers and excellent game changing defenders should get way more love. Smith at Bama was the first receiver to win since our very own Desmond Howard.

At the moment, Minnesota / Penn State is testing the theoretical limits of a Big Ten game, right down to the field goals and inconsistent execution on even the simplest of things.

To be fair, they're generally not playing Temple.  Instead, a lot of Michigan and Ohio State.  Here's from the Wikipedia article:

Mohamed Ibrahim is great but I think we're seeing the answer to the question "Why can't they just build the whole plane out of the black box?".

Aircraft contain "black boxes", devices intended to record flight data.  They're very durable, intended to survive in the event of a plane crash so investigators can study the recorded behavior of the plane and crew and determine what caused the crash.  This leads to smartasses suggesting that you build the whole plane out of whatever the black box is made out of, presumably so it too will survive a crash.

Mohamed Ibrahim is a weapon but as of my post Minnesota had one completed pass, and were using every other down to just feed him the ball to the tune of 2.something yards per carry.  You can't build a whole plane out of a black box and you can't build a functional offense out of one good running back.

We will learn absolutely nothing about how good or not good Penn State is from this game.  Minny is completely handcuffed at QB.  They are not any kind of test at all.

PSU could give OSU a game next week. Good corners matches up with OSU's strength, and I think PSU has enough talent on the D line to stop the OSU ground game (UM's ground game is way more schematically involved than OSU's)

The question is can PSU score any points, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a competitive game. When OSU WRs aren't getting embarrassingly wide open on every play, that offense looks a lot less intimidating as we saw today
