NCAA Selection Open Thread

Submitted by mi93 on

I thought a thread to talk match-ups and selections would be fun.  I know I'm not going to do anything productive other than plan my bracket for the next 5 hours.

Fingers crossed and Go Blue!

Like our chances against Tulsa... Best wins are @SMU after one of their best players left the team, against Wichita State and some home wins against mediocre American teams.

...is that the last game ends so late that the committee ignores it and works up a bracket they can live with either way. They don't have time in that last half hour to scramble it, and they have probably enough trouble working up a consensus for the one bracket they have that they don't have time to work up an alternate in advance.

When the two teams are close in seed they can just flip them, but that wouldn't work today because Purdue was too far down in the seeding. So with MSU on the 1/2 edge, and knowing they won't be able to justify a one-seed if they lose, they just slot them at a 2 but give them a favorable site to make up for it.

Stupid f ing play in game. That shit should be reserved for teams from lesser conferences. Michigan got jobbed. Could have easily been put in the 8-9 game or at least a 10 seed. I'm happy they are in but not happy with the seed.

plays primarily 4 guards and a little useage 6'9" center.  their best scorers only shoot 35% and 37% from 3 pt range.  the team is pretty bad overall at shooting and worse at rebounding.  we better blow these guys out.

Think Indiana got royally screwed with their draw.  They have to play KY in the second round, then winner gets Carolina - ouch.

Conversely, l like our draw. If we get hot, and JB conjures up some of his tournament magic, who knows? It would be great to get a second crack at Xavier.

CBS sucks - who the hell thought this would be a good way to reveal the brackets.  This is horrible.  I dont need interviews with Bill Self or Charles Barkely's predicts.  REVEAL THE DAMN BRACKETS

Anybody else watching Calipari trying so hard to pretend the #4 seed doesn't bother him? Eat it, you slimy bastard.

THE WORST sports production I've ever seen. Only way to change that shit is to contact the advertisers and let them know. Personally I switched over to the sports leader before they even finished the brackets. This was agonizing bullshit and Gottlieb has tiny dick syndrome that is impossible to watch.Just Awful.Goodnight.
