Nauta a Bulldog

Nauta a Bulldog.

Best of luck to the kid.

I don't see this as a huge loss for Michigan. Michigan should be in the running for the best next year, too. In the mean time, the position is faithfully occupied.

Go Blue!

For future notice:

If the recruiting info doesn't come from the likes of Aquaman, Sam Webb, or Chris Balas don't buy into it. Guys like Teddy Blanks and MichiganNation2 know as much as the rest of us and use Twitter to prey on gullible Michigan fans who want to buy into any positive news that comes out about a recruit.

It's too bad that being close to your family plays into a decision like that. To me, choosing Georgia will likely do nothing in regards for getting ready for the NFL. Harbs gets his TE's very ready and makes the good ones great by running offenses through them. On his part, it was a horrible football decision. But, best of luck, Harbs will turn a 2 star into a better TE than he will be Hahahaha. Go blue.

Total horrible football decision on his part. Terrible choice to go to a Top-10/15 team playing in the SEC to try to continue his career. He's the #1 TE in the country. Him making it to the league or not is probably not dependent on Harbaugh coaching him, but his own talent.

Jeeze people, its not like he picked Georgia Southern. He's going to play at Georgia. They have some guys who are in the NFL and have done well also.

No one gets everyone they want. Missing on a player, even a great one, is disappointing but not a gut punch if you're going to be fine at that position anyway.

Under Harbaugh, as it was under Bo, this goes for every position.

Missing on Gary would be disappointing, but would hurt our D no more than OSU's offense will be hurt that Walker flipped to UM, i.e. not at all.

Saban & Co. whiff on recruits every year. Monday they play for their 4th title in 7 seasons - on the strength of 6 consecutive #1 classes.

There are no huge recruiting losses when your program is a talent electromagnet.

But Jeremiah was a Bullfrog

We'll be fine without Nauta, we have good depth at the position and Harbaugh will get enough guys in the future. The TE position is not one I'm worried about.

Same thing happened last year with Clark. And last time I checked things were not going so well for him. I think Gary is a far more cant miss gotta have recruit. Everything I've ever read about Gary points to UM. Every year we miss on somebody that SHOULD have committed but didn't (deshaun hand). I just hope we missed on nauta not Gary. Get Gary and the rest won't even matter imo.

Was looking up top NFL tight end college stats and found this about Antonio Gates. How did I not know he played at EMU?

Originally, Gates enrolled at Michigan State University wanting to play football under then-coach Nick Sabanas well as basketball under coach Tom Izzo. Upon enrolling, he learned that Saban wanted him to play only football.[5] Gates then chose to pursue playing basketball by transferring to Eastern Michigan University. He played there part of a season, subsequently played at two junior colleges, and eventually played two seasons at Kent State University in northeastern Ohio.

Isn't it funny that there are 2x more posts about the guys we didn't get than the one we got. It is really true that people hate losing more than they love winning.

Looks like this Gary to Ole Miss rumor is starting to heat up. Not looking great for us anymore, especially with all the talk about Ole Miss playing dirty. Really wanted Nauta because I'm not as confident in landing Gary anymore.

Not losing any sleep over it.  Harbaugh, yada yada

everything's gonna be fine.   On to the next prospect.

I am still so excited about this class, it's going to

be great for these kids to learn from the best

from day one.

be glorious in JH's offense. Sometimes proximity to mom is more important. On to the next recruits. JH can really make a difference in the speed and explosiveness of the roster with a handful of key recruits this month - especially in D.

Although it would have nice landing Nauta we are pretty good at tightend for the next few years.  We have possibly the best TE in the nation next year with Butt so he will receive most of the reps.  I also really like Bunting and feel he has great potential....6'7" with huge hands and runs well.  Hill also showed flashes this year and actually plays similarly to Nauta and is about the same size.  And after that we have Wheatley who is a supersized TE with very good athletism.  On top of that we already have a TE in this class with Sean McKeon who Harbaugh saw enough promise to offer him a scholarship when he certainly didn't have to.  I think we are in good shape at that position.

I'm another who thinks that Nauta looked more resigned about his choice than excited. You can't really blame a kid for trying to make his family happy. Rashan Gary is the guy that really matters. The Wolverines will have a great TE next season, without Nauta. They won't have a Rashan Gary unless he commits.
