Najee Harris' Trainer Decked Out in Michigan Gear

Submitted by IvyLeague on

Najee Harris' trainer who has been a strong advocate of Alabama in the past was spotted today rocking a full Michigan jump suit. Most days when he has worn college gear it is nothing but Bama. Today was the first day he was seen with Michigan stuff. The photo was posted to Twitter and was liked by Devin Asiasi who use to train with him. If you want to see the photo go to LandofJustice twitter account. Having issues embedding.

Flight redirection isn't him either. All anyone has to do is find out from the person in charge of the flight scheduling for the recruits at the All-Star game. Now while Najee is in Texas, he is responsible for what his brother in California tweets? Really? All his brother said is that he wants him to go to Michigan. That's not trolling. That's a family member wanting him to go to Michigan. I guess Malik McDowell trolled us pretty hard too because his mom wanted him to go to Michigan.

Najee to trainer: "here, take this free Michigan gear i got. I was totally going to go to Michigan until i checked out Mgoblog. No thanks."

I feel like coaches and trainers frequently wear the free gear they get from universities that recruit their kids. I remember some of that happening when I was a wrestling coach.

Originally thought Najee was seeking to avoid being the center of attention, but now I believe it is the opposite.  Not that that makes him a bad person...he is like every other big time recruit.  He certainly is enjoying the whole recruiting universe, and two of the largest fan bases squirming over what decision he is going to make.  If he really didn't want the attention he would just say where he is going and then the party is over.

My theory is that there's a distinction to be made between "drama/attention" and "privacy". By all accounts he's been a quiet kid who likes his privacy for a few years. No way he was trolling for 2 years or suddenly changed temperament. Instead, my theory is that he values PRIVACY more than he values LACK OF DRAMA. When the recruit was early in the cycle, all he had to do was politely decline interview requests. Now that the media is more curious and is pressing harder, he's switching up his tactics. Rather than just come out and reveal his choice to end the drama, he's throwing up a ton of smoke screens to maintain his privacy. It's not unlike some private celebrities who use decoys to dodge photographers. Yeah, some celebrities court tabloids to boost their fame. But many don't and just want their privacy. I put HARRIS in category #2. The scrutiny increased and this is all just a reaction to that.

he's telling his trainer to.

2) His trainer may not even know where Najee is going. This is the same guy who claimed his brother's Twitter account was fake.

3) It's certainly possible that he didn't anticipate the reaction to the way he is announcing his decision. Either he sticks to that or he lets the media pressure him into changing his plans. If he was truly looking for more attention, he'd get it by announcing his choice on NBC during the game tomorrow.

This is a kid who doesn't even have a Twitter account. How closely is he following all the social media attention?

Maybe he's going to Bama and wanted to get rid of all of his Michigan gear.

This goes both ways. It means nothing. We'll see what happens when he goes to school on Monday - or more likely when a fan recognizes him on campus on Sunday.

This whole thing just seems beyond odd to me. If the kid didn't want the attention why wouldn't he just confirm he is stinking with Bama? Maybe he didn't know as of a couple days ago, but if the rumors are true that he made up his mind and booked his flight, why would he not let Michigan coaches know. Sam said they didn't as of today. If he just decided to go to Bama and not let the M staff know that's a pretty classless move IMO as M has no contingency plan because they believe he's coming. If this is indeed a massive troll job (which it appears to be) he's trolling the coaches as well as the fans. That said, I'd love to have him in this class!

It's classless both ways. If he has actually made a decision the right thing to do is let the other coaches know. He's not that naive, he knows both schools are waiting for an answer. Maybe he has let them know by now, or maybe he truly doesn't know yet, I'm just offering my opinion on the matter.

So I had this thought today: Everyone keeps saying "he doesn't like attention so why doesn't he just clarify already." Which what if it's just a miscommunication and he actually just doesn't like talking to the media. I had this thought for a couple reasons mainly because it would fit as to why he hasn't told the media he is committed to Alabama, it fits why he hasn't decommitted, etc. Everyone likes attention, especially adolescents/young adults (I am an AYA teacher) he just doesn't want to talk to the media. It'd be pretty easy to twist not talking to the media into not liking attention.
