MSU doesn't know who they're recruiting

Can't get the link to work but according to Steve Lorenz on Twitter, Sparty was at East Lake high school and didn't know who George Campbell was.  Confirmed by Campbell himself.

But anyways, I don't even get how they could do this. Did they just travel to Florida, get there, and suddenly get Alzheimer's and think "Shit, why the hell are we in Florida?" Dantonio needs to spend less time in the "weeds"

Dantonio is used to Michigan weeds, which while impressive, are nowhere as big, fast, and talented as weeds in SEC country.  So it is likely the weeds he was laying in hurt is ability to make judgements and even know really where he was.  This is why Dantonio prefers to focus on lying in weeds in other parts of the galaxy.

Later stage symptoms may not appear until weeks, months or years after a tick bite and can include memory loss, difficulty concentrating, and changes in mood and sleeping habits.

Stay out of the weeds Coach, it's not safe in there!

Wait... they were there to recruit George Campbell and didn't know who he was?  Or they were there for someone else and didn't know who he was?  Either way... I mean... man.  I'm the one who always bitches about us trolling our rivals, but this.  Is just... wow.

They went to talk to Mason Cole I believe amongst others, Scott too whom they were said to have recruited as a DB and when Cambell was brought up they said something along of the lines of "George who?" All hearsay but that's the gist of what I've read publicly

Still seems weird you wouldn't know about a recruit that talented but it's not like they suddenly forgot why they were there. They wanted to see if Cole was solid or if there was still a chance.

I feel stupid too.  I don't know who Steve Lorenz or George Campbell is either.

And who exactly is "Sparty"? Do they have a recruiting coordinator with that name?

There's no reason for you to feel stupid.  You're not the head football coach of a Div 1A program, so knowing the name of every solid football prospect out there isn't in your job description.  Dantonio on the other hand.....wtf?

We keep Ace around so that we don't have to know the name of every football recruit out there.

posted that they told campbell they were full at wr after not knowing who he was which amused him and the only interest they had in scott is at db

Is it simply possible that MSU is tired of losing recruiting battles to us at this point?  No, Hand!  You do not have an offer!

If you look at Campbell's Rivals page, it lists offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi State, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and a few others still, but conspicuously absent from this list is Michigan State.

However, it is interesting to note that I arrived at that page through this like - (HERE) - which reports that Campbell did receive an offer from MSU a few weeks ago (also, the piece is from late May). 247Sports - also linked in that article - reports an offer but the typical "cool" for interest as a result. Clearly, transmitting offers via subspace from the edge of known space creates problems with getting timely updates everywhere.
