We're getting into the taboo subject of genetics and biological determinism. He certainly didn't choose to be ugly and has no control over that, but who would choose to be ugly if they could? Furthermore, why can we only make fun of something that people have control over? The only fair target is people's irrational or poor decisions? I agree it's superficial to make fun of the face someone was born with but, at the same time, neither did Denzel have control over the good fortune of being born with a long, healthy, elite athletic body. It's one thing to poke fun at the facially disfured, but it's another to poke fun at a guy who in the grand scheme of things came out on the top in the genetic lottery. (>90th percentile).

To be fair, he wasn't born with it, he was just smacked across the face with a frying pan one too many times.

Because it could help develop secondary options. Will need those against some tough opponents and when Valentine has off games in the future.
In the long-run they are better off, even if it means they drop a game or two they wouldn't have and fall from 1 seed to 2 seed as a result.

I would say I'm sad, but that would be a lie.

He's very good. But I feel that he's been there forever. Like Robbie Hummel.

for getting players 7-8 years of eligibility. Hummel and Brian Cardinal both played at least that long.

was there for a score

No he wasn't.

Same class as Nik, Caris, Mitch, Glenn, Spike etc - just sucks ours were mostly gone so soon. (3 of tre 5) If those 3 had stayed til their sr yr I anticipate they'd be having Denzel like yrs too....
Izzo does a remarkable job of not developing most players until their junior yr so he always has experienced teams. Guy like Payne was a 5 star who was mediocre until jr yr then Izzo gets benefit of 5 star big man for jr and sr yrs.

that they were waiting for a good time to address. Out three weeks shouldn't be a big problem for them.

I'm sorry to see his breakout season disrupted, and I hope he has a full recovery. I also hope they lose several games while he's out, and then several more, especially the game on Feb. 6.

I've got a bet riding on our game with them (ATS)...GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!

Izzo was also nominated for the first time for the basketball HOF today. I'd imagine he is a first ballot entry?

State fans will whine like bitches for any losses they incur and their coach will complain about how their team is too injured to win. Meanwhile John Belein just keeps coaching without any excuses after 1.5 years of worse injury problems.

Does he have a goatee? Listens to rawk music and say the word, "Bro" often? Yep, that's Kevin. He's a wicked moron.

Isn't this the same 10th year senior who has been playing for State since Trey Burke was a freshman? I kid, but not much. It seems like those guys NEVER graduate.

... just so we beat them. If it takes him being out for us to win, then I hope he is out when we play.
December 21st, 2015 at 5:25 PM ^
C for Common sense. We're not going to beat them this year if they are at full strength, probably not even if their best player is out . I'm sure the surgery was timed so he'll be in tip top shape for our game anyway.
