Mork finally lands his QB
I know some people think it's a waste of time to look at how our Rivals are doing, but this was too good not to share.
After not signing a quarterback in 2019, MSU has made a big splash in 3 star prospect Noah Kim.
Kim is the no. 52 pro style quarterback in the country, and 28th overall in the commonwealth of Virginia, and ranked outside the top 1,000 with a rating of .8385.
And he's not even the lowest rated recruit in their class.
He technically decommited from Virginia Tech, though one has to wonder whose decision that really was. MSU beat out other offers from WMU, Fordham, Holy Cross, William & Mary, among others.
Congratulations, Mork!

This thread is in poor taste.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:27 AM ^
Agreed. This borders on trashing a high school kid despite him earning a ride at a Big Ten school (even if it is MSU).
October 31st, 2019 at 11:52 AM ^
Not to mention, do you really want to go there when Mork has former 2 and 3 stars all over the NFL?

Delete. Who cares we shouldn’t have a board post for MSU commits.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:26 AM ^
You can bitch all you want but I always enjoy a little shade throwing toward msu.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:31 AM ^
It's fine if it's against MSU, but a lot of this post is about showing how bad this kid is and about trashing a high schooler who happened to earn an offer from a rival school.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
I see your point. Fair enough.
LSA, feel free to remove this thread, if you so choose. I'll take my 50 lashes
October 31st, 2019 at 10:58 AM ^
No need to trash the kids offer list considering UM competes with a lot of MAC schools and second tier programs for recruits

Like Arkansas
October 31st, 2019 at 2:53 PM ^
So it will be in good taste in 9 months to be critical of his footballing abilities? Fine, I'll wait.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:27 AM ^
Yeah I'm an idiot
October 31st, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
I agree.
October 31st, 2019 at 11:59 AM ^
...and this awaits the young, unsuspecting recruit:

Necessary roughness
October 31st, 2019 at 10:24 AM ^
The only logical conclusion to draw from this development is that State will go 1-11 in 2022, with their only win coming against us in a trash tornado. This plucky kid will inexplicably throw for 450 yards and 10 touchdowns while our 5-star all-everything fumbles the ball 17 times.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:47 AM ^
we kind of laugh at this, but illinois' back up QB, Matt Robinson, was about the same rating and look what he did with a 25 point comeback against us and lacking most all the weapons we had at our disposal.

I'm making a funny and yet at the same time I am deadly serious.

Where was Duncan Robinson out of high school?
October 31st, 2019 at 10:33 AM ^
Or Ronnie Bell? What offers did he have? Any of the 3 Glasgow brothers? How about Caris Levert?
October 31st, 2019 at 10:53 AM ^
Glasgows were walk ons. Not the same.
October 31st, 2019 at 11:15 AM ^
Plenty of walk-ons have commitable offers from schools, but choose to walk-on at a school they dreamt about as a kid. Your view of walk-ons is skewed, methinks.
October 31st, 2019 at 11:15 AM ^
for that reason, they're precisely the same.
October 31st, 2019 at 11:55 AM ^
Rivals has Noah Kim as a 3-star with a 5.5 rating. That is the exact same rating Kirk Cousins had, who is currently enjoying a pretty good NFL career. Connor Cook was a 3-star with a 5.7 rating, and last I saw him he was grabbing his second MVP trophy out of Archie Griffin's hands. Have any of our QBs politely accepted any B1G Championship Game trophies?
October 31st, 2019 at 10:28 AM ^
Who knows, he might turn out to be a good player. However, their roster is going to be SO BAD after this season. I hope Mork stays for a while to see this through.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:32 AM ^
I don't mind the thread because it says more about the state of affairs at MSU than it does about Mr. Kim. He gets a P5 full-ride scholarship and that's great for him. His other offers were Holy Cross and Howard. I offer him my largest congratulations.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:37 AM ^
Well, going to Holy Cross or Howard for free and to play football is, kind of, a BIg Deal.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:57 AM ^
you beat me to it. Was going to post something very similar
October 31st, 2019 at 11:49 AM ^
You mean to tell me Holy Cross had a football team this whole time!?
WTF!!

October 31st, 2019 at 11:41 AM ^
Isn’t Howard a good academic school though?
October 31st, 2019 at 10:32 AM ^
I feel like you're just guaranteeing he's going to be a great player.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:34 AM ^
I mean, why create a thread to shit on a kid committing to MSU? He's still a D1 QB prospect at a major P5 program; that's more than could be said for 99.99% of the people here.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:35 AM ^
Because sometimes I'm a jackass. My bad.

Upvote for self-effacing humor.
Not seen often on this self-pretentious blog.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:42 AM ^
Brute, no need for self-flagellation IMO. I read your post as a comment on Sparty recruiting more than disparagement of the player.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:46 AM ^
Well it was supposed to be, but I suppose written communication doesn't always come across appropriately when writing from a smartphone in a semi distracted environment.
As soon as I can find the edit button I'll fix it so it's more MSU focused instead of shitting on a high school kid.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:56 AM ^
I guess it's never a good idea to ridicule college recruits, but I must admit that when I see someone commit to MSU it irritates me and I immediately write them off as either clueless or corrupt. I realize it's wrong and irrational but there it is.
October 31st, 2019 at 11:43 AM ^
100% fall into this category
October 31st, 2019 at 11:11 AM ^
I read it the same way. In fact, this is the only thing I took from it:
"MSU beat out other offers from WMU, Fordham, Holy Cross, William & Mary"

I know we like to poke fun at MSU (even I do, and I have NEVER pretended to have gone to Michigan. They do not take students who sleep through four years of high school and graduate with a 1.6 GPA)
BUT--let us face facts--Mork does pretty well with whomever he recruits. It might have also coincided with Michigan being un-Michigan over the same time span, but he also managed to beat OSU multiple times and go to the Playoff.
So.....
October 31st, 2019 at 11:13 AM ^
He had a great run over there. Better than anything Michigan has done in the past 15 years, which is sad.
October 31st, 2019 at 12:16 PM ^
Mork can't do shit w/o his weather machine.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:38 AM ^
I like bagging on MSU but let’s never resort to any type of RCMB level obsession. They are just truly pathetic.
October 31st, 2019 at 10:39 AM ^
They also beat out Eastern for Leveon Bell. How did that turn out?
October 31st, 2019 at 10:43 AM ^
Kirk Cousins and Connor Cook weren't highly regarded either and we see how that turned out.
