More good news: Brandon Peters is “symptom free” could return to practice as early as Wednesday

Here’s hoping he does. Love this guy! http://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/wolverine… EDIT: don’t want this to be misleading but the sentence now reads “if he is clear of symptoms” I think it’s good news either way. Team seems to think he’ll be back this week.

Yep, OP missed the big 'if': 'Harbaugh said if Peters is free of symptoms, he has to do cardio and lifting and then see if symptoms are there the next day. Once that happens, he'd be allowed to practice without contact. Could happen as early as Wednesday. '

He really does not, no... Bad, BAD OP!!!

"Harbaugh said if Peters is free of symptoms, he has to do cardio and lifting and then see if symptoms are there the next day. Once that happens, he'd be allowed to practice without contact. Could happen as early as Wednesday."

I think the author may have edited the sentence to say “if he is free of symptoms” said “was free of symptoms.” Don’t want this to be misleading, I think it’s good news either way.

It's not as good as the news we are all hoping for, but...at least it means that he hasn't been ruled out.

Soooo...he is saying there's a chance...

Oh damn we have a game. Was not expecting to hear this. For the love of god, please focus on Pass Pro this week. Edit: WTF OP. Thread title is still wrong by the way.

I am excited at the prospect of him being ready to play, but it worries me to see an athlete back in the next week after being knocked out cold.  I'd rather lose the game and see him held out for precautionary measures in case he starts experiencing any symptoms.

From all reports, he was knocked out cold. To put him in a game, at the most mentally difficult position, just a week later makes me incredibly nervous and, frankly, is something I hope doesn't happen.

From what we've learned about concussion, a "second impact" concussion can literally have immediate, life threatening/altering effects. God forbid he gets crushed by Bosa or some other OSU player and would get another one.

So unless there is some way for them to be 100% certain that he is completely over his concussion by Saturday, he should not play. Save him for the bowl game and more importantly, think of his short and long-term health.

with any loss of consciousness (seconds) we were taught that it would be at least 10 days before they would allow a player to return. The longer the player was knocked out, the longer they would have to sit before being able to return. While we all want to see him back, I think it is very unlikely that he would be cleared to play in one week.

He doesn't say Peters is "symptom-free."

Harbaugh said if Peters is free of symptoms, he has to do cardio and lifting and then see if symptoms are there the next day. Once that happens, he'd be allowed to practice without contact. Could happen as early as Wednesday.

Big difference here. Eh?

Awesome news!  Here I am, once again, believing that we have a chance against these shitdicks.  If Peters can go full strength, I'd say that gives us a solid shot.  Hopefully the crowd brings it.  I was there in 2003, which was the loudest I've ever heard that place and hope we can replicate the noise!
