Had just typed this out to start a forum, but I'll post it here instead:

Stroud met with members of the media ahead of his Heisman trip & had the following to say:

“I don’t know what the narrative is and I’m not trying to set the narrative, I just know that when it comes down to playing football, I’ll take Ohio State against any team. College football’s a weird year this year. We lost two games, and I don’t think neither of those teams are better than us, but you gotta give them respect. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about who’s the better team, it’s about who plays better that day.

When you take into consideration what we’re going through that week, preparing for the team up north and everybody kind of having the flu and things like that – of course I don’t make excuses – but you kind of got to take that into consideration. It kind of does matter. I’ll take Ohio State, I’ll take my brothers against anybody.”

He then said that he remembers feeling more tired after some drives than usual, which he kind of half-hearted blamed on his sickness (more likely should have blamed Hutch lol)

On Gattis's comments about OSU being a soft team, Ryan Day said "I don't really think about that much at all", while Stroud said:

“I’m logged out of everything, I don’t know what’s going on. But y’all want to talk about physicality, I don’t think there’s any team more physical than us. Of course in those games I’m not in the trenches, so I really don’t know. I’m not looking down there. But my guys did the best they could at the end of the day."

At the end of the day, it's nothing too inflammatory, but it is definitely fun to be on this side of things for once haha

I actually love his response.  The more that ohio looks for excuses rather than trying to determine the real reasons they lost, the better. I'd love it if they spent all of next spring saying, "we would've won The Game but for the flu" rather than "what are you doing today to beat Michigan?"

aka - I know what the narrative is and I'm trying to change it because it sucks to sit on a L for a full year, to get pasted by a rival, to have a soft OL and DL, to watch said rival win the conference, to watch said rival challenge for a national championship, and to listen to a fanbase that will only accept a pasting from Clemson and/or Alabama.

I bet he really has been logged out of everything. He's been buckling down to make sure his final exams go well this week. He's really been hitting the books talking only to his study group. You know, get those academics in order. Had to hear about the Heisman news from a classmate.

The best they could do was give up 269 yards rushing and 38 points in one loss, and 297 yds rushing and 42 points in the other.  That doesn't seem very good.

The best part?  Utah beat the living shit out of Oregon - twice!  The Rose Bowl should be a fun watch...
