Michigan Monday is up

Didn't see any post about this yet.

My favorite line this week, giving credit to Bench...

" By the way, fullback Ben Mason is a beast. However, I assume he’s going to miss a game eventually because the government will need his help in saving an important government official who has been kidnapped by a rogue para-military group hellbent on destroying our way of life."

Snark is strong in this one (as usual). As I said before, he is begrudgingly handing our praise but there is fear behind the veiled shots he takes.

I didn’t know until now that the defender that Tru Wilson supposedly held on the called back DPJ touchdown took a well acted soccer-like dive.   Maybe that guy has a future as a professional wrestler...

The comparison with OSU's passing numbers are interesting, but I think we're not going to see a great deal of passing and/or razzle dazzle until maybe Wisco (if things get tough--their defense is in bad shape, and maybe Michigan can stay pretty vanilla and still win), but definitely MSU, PSU, and a few weeks later, OSU. This is not only for strategic reasons, but also because I think Patterson is still learning the offense.

I'm sure part of it is due to Shea still learning the offense, but I think Harbaugh is also keeping things vanilla because:

A) He can. Much like you alluded to, there's no point in showing any razzle dazzle when you don't have to.

B) Harbaugh is doing everything he can to keep Shea healthy and get him to the OSU game in one piece. We've seen the last two years how things may have been different against OSU if we'd had a healthy or serviceable QB.

I expect the playbook will open up considerably over the next 3-4 weeks, mostly out of necessity.

This isn't thread worthy but it is related. 11 Warriors had their weekly Michigan update and provided one of the dumbest takes I've ever seen. Either that or just incredibly lazy writing.

The whole thing is pretty comical, and the comments provide the icing on the cake.

You do understand that a post on a blog called 11 Warriors has little to no correlation as to whether the OSU football team and staff is complacent, don't you?

I really don't think that 11 Warriors is ANY reflection of the attitudes and work ethics of the football team nor staff.

Like OSU's rushing game is anything to write home about. They also have huge problems on defense right now. Chris Spielman said on his radio show the IU QB missed about a dozen open receivers last Saturday and that he's never seen an OSU defense play this poor. Their back 7 despite all those highly ranked players is atrocious. And after watching a solid but far from spectacular PSU defense shut down their offense for 52 minutes they should just be thankful they got a lucky win and don't have to play anyone until the UM game. Although I could definitely see Purdue lighting up their defense in a few weeks.

And to further twist the knife, here's Bell's Hello Post

Cheers to you, our sage hermit on a high mountain, who refused to play the recruiting game and yet still reaped the rewards.

Despite what the idiot announcers said, this play was not a thing of luck.  Patterson put the perfect weight on this pass and Bell...

At 3:36...

I'm calling my shot now.  Bell is UM's next star receiver.

I hope Jeremy Ruckert read this:

"Tight end Zach Gentry led the way for the Wolverines with seven catches for 112 yards. As an aside, Ohio State’s tight ends have caught 5 passes for 51 yards this season."

If WRs want to be in a pro scheme and not just be taking screen passes then yes - go to M. Also, while WRs have been underwhelming the passing offense is just coming online, on the other hand,

Ruckert is never going to be a prime target in OSU offense, unlike Michigan. So he went there for what exactly? Endorse that OSU harbors wife beaters? Some cash? Academically superior institution? Learn how to poop in coolers?

Sure I was summarizing but how many of "highlight" reels are P Campbell taking screen pass to the house. Lets count: TCU, PSU, Indiana (see evidence below) and actually every game of OSU this year.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the quick 10 yard out and flare screen taken to the house - I present P Campbell highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaAN8UdJvRM

Also you brought WR into the argument. I was talking about shitty TE play and Ruckert being dumb to go to OSU (actually being dumb and OSU...match made in heaven). P Campbell's majority yards are on flare's and screens not on PA bombs.

There is a reason PFF put Shea > Haskins. Shea's throws were harder and more "pro-style". Anyways, its fine. OSU has monster receivers but M receivers are just beginning to flash talent and produce consistently. This without Black.

"...a one-dimensional offense against Michigan’s defense is just asking to be debacled."

I love this line.  I hope it rings true in the big truck stop come November...
