"Michigan fans are nasty, man. They're ruthless" -Ameer Abdullah
Maybe he has Michigan confused with the other michigan school.
Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah: Michigan fans are nasty, man. They’re ruthless. And I wouldn’t have it any other way."

Or, given the state of things on the board lately, maybe he has the right school.
November 4th, 2013 at 4:56 PM ^
Was going to say the same thing. He must be reading the forum today.

That's a compliment.
November 5th, 2013 at 6:14 AM ^
I can only wish that I agreed with his statement.
November 4th, 2013 at 4:56 PM ^
Maybe he has been reading this board recently...
November 4th, 2013 at 4:57 PM ^
Did he get lost and end up in Yost?
November 4th, 2013 at 5:04 PM ^
He also said that, "He would love nothing more than to win in Ann Arbor and shut them fans up." Not a big deal really. He is good, but I dont care what he says. Im more worried about whether the OL is going to block someone saturday or if our D can actually play a full 4 quarters.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:57 PM ^
Nebraska is pretty awful up front defensively, so my first thought is "hey, maybe we can actually block someone"
Then I remember the UConn game...

November 5th, 2013 at 6:21 AM ^
Apparently he doesn't know all Michigans fans do nowadays is piss and moan about how shitty the OLine and coaches are...
November 4th, 2013 at 5:06 PM ^
That genuinely confuses me
November 4th, 2013 at 5:10 PM ^
Good... At least we're doing something well.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:13 PM ^
Michigan fans are nasty? Compared to... Nebraska fans? Iowa fans? Because then this would be a correct statement.
EDIT: I don't understand the downvotes. It's not the OP that said this.. The OP is just bringing it to the board's attention.

November 4th, 2013 at 6:17 PM ^
Right. If we're going to compare Michigan fans to Nebraska fans... then yes, Michigan fans are ruthless.
Nebraska fans are like the Canadians of the U.S.A.
November 4th, 2013 at 7:09 PM ^
Man, did you see the Vancouver hockey riots in 1994 and 2011? Most American states have not seen civil unrest like that.
November 4th, 2013 at 9:09 PM ^
Most of those people were not Canadians - when those WTO type of things happen people from all over the world come to the city to riot. A lot are anarchists etc
November 4th, 2013 at 9:50 PM ^
You really think a bunch of foreign anarchists made last-minute plans to go to Vancouver to riot after hockey games?
November 4th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
November 4th, 2013 at 9:08 PM ^
epic gif. And yes his baseline is Nebraska fans so he thinks Northwestern fans are ruthless....
November 4th, 2013 at 6:35 PM ^
I'm extremely impressed with the Nebraska fans I've met and observed. They are really classy. I really don't think our fans are nasty, but if he believes that, so be it.

...let's go out of our way to be really, really nice and throw them a curve!

Don't we wish. But maybe when viewed from the eyes of a visiting team over the last three years? In any event, beat the Huskers!
November 4th, 2013 at 5:14 PM ^
Perhaps we are moving away from the golf-clapping wine and chesse society crowds. Now if we could just the other 55,000 fans to actually raise their voices and cheer for the team we would be dangerous.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:19 PM ^
As a wine and chesse afficionado, I am offended by your comment.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:21 PM ^
Lol. There are, no doubt, a great combo; however, perhaps best enjoyed outside of the football arena.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:21 PM ^
I am offended also.

I personally enjoy a good wedge of Shropshire Blue and a nice Bordeaux while wandering about the links myself. I think we should combine it into one nice, sizeable retort.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:42 PM ^
Manchego & Sangiovese for me. Beats the hell out of pork rinds & Huber Bock or whatever the hell they snack on in Nebraska.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:52 PM ^
Zinfandel and a block of parmesan does it best for me.
November 4th, 2013 at 8:17 PM ^
I believe it's runzas and corn squeezins in Nebraska.

You wouldn't want to pair a blue with a bordeaux, unless you are talking about a Sauternes. But I would suggest going even sweeter and stickier with a blue; like maybe a late-harvest viognier, or late harvest sav. blanc, from California. Even sweet whites from Bordeaux have acidity that will work against the bite from that Shropshire every time.

a can of cheese and box of wine as much as anyone, but I don't think us classy folk should be offended by this.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:24 PM ^
But,I'd prefer those words being spoken about the team!!!!
November 4th, 2013 at 5:25 PM ^
He played against Michigan last year in Lincoln. Was there a nasty contingent of Michigan fans who took umbrage after Denard went down and put in a guy who helped the Cornhuskers look like MSU on defense? I mean that was a good thing for his team.
I guess I need some more context to understand this quote. Actually, I won't challenge the allegation, but I would submit that Michigan fans are typically harder on their own team than on the opposition unless provoked. At least, that is my experience.
You know who are the worst fans, though, outside of Columbus? Iowa fans. They are without a doubt the most self-serving homers of all-time. And they are terrible to be around at a game. You just want to haul off and hit them and then demand, what the hell has your school ever done, period? Why are you like this?

He's a junior. He played against us in 2011 here in Ann Arbor.

Glad to hear other teams thinking our stadium isn't filled with a bunch of pansies anymore. Another team's stadium isn't supposed to feel welcoming. Doesn't mean you have to try and fight every away fan there and spill beer all over them, but it shouldn't feel like going into friendly confines.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:35 PM ^
I think Al Borges would agree with this statement.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:39 PM ^
I, for one, am a complete badass.
November 4th, 2013 at 5:49 PM ^
That ruffian!
Expect a rather ghastly reception at the Big House this autumn Saturday afternoon - you and your uncultured teammates.
