Why?  All these teams that don't have 4 straight years of top 4 recruiting classes are essentially the same.

Outside UGA, BAMA and OSU the talent parity across the next 20 teams is ridiculous.

Any team can be beat on any day.  Hell, Sparty beat UM with a bunch of voodoo.

You really think UM is that much better than ND? I don't.  We could have lost to Nebraska or Rutgers just as easily as we should have beaten Sharty.

We need to recruit 3-4 top 5 classes in a row, and I promise you all the "Harbaugh is a terrible coach!" goes away, because our margin for error will increase dramatically, and the number of high leverage plays in a game and chance for voodoo losses (or wins) go way down.

IE, every coaching mistake, officiating error, or poor play call won't be scrutinized by the fanbase and media to death because they just won't matter when you're up 28 points.

Anyone else severely struggles with a team they were favored by 4 TDs over and they likely drop.  Bama stays put.  Just because.

In fact the team they passed did the same fucking thing and....dropped.

The answer is Cincinnati.

- They don't have a loss; Alabama does.

- They beat (according to this stupid poll) #7 team in the country; Alabama beat the #12 team.

- They each don't have another win over a currently ranked team.

It really doesn't matter, of course, but if you're going to do this stuff, be consistent.

Cinci is nice story but Vegas would have that line Bama -17 vs. Cinci, minimum.

They needed a goal line stand to beat Tulsa.  They've looked pedestrian against teams nowhere near the top 25 in their past 3 games.

We've seen what happens when overrated teams like ND or MSU get into the playoff - 40 point blowouts to the likes of Bama or when Clemson is loaded.

Cinci would be lucky to stay that close to a healthy UGA, Bama or OSU.

I don't know how Purdue doesn't get ranked. 3 losses (2 against ranked teams, only bad one was a touchdown to Minn.) and 2 wins against then top 5 opponents.

I do find it......interesting......that Auburn lost at A&M and dropped 6 spots. Baylor lost at TCU and dropped 5 spots.

BUt Michigan State get whooped at Purdue and drops *checks notes* 3 spots. They have nothing to complain about, with being behind us. They should have dropped further than they did.

Gotta believe the CFP committee is gonna penalize Cincy for that clunker they put up yesterday, even if AP and Coaches didn't.  Love to see UM at #5 on Tuesday.

purdue should be ranked.  they beat what was then the #2 and #3 teams and are 6-3.  we were all yelling 'boiler-up!' at the tailgates yesterday.  a glorious warm, sunny, fall afternoon/evening.

Michigan's going to be ranked #7 (or #8 if they decide to put Oklahoma ahead of them for some reason) in the CFP rankings with MSU at #6 or #7... simply because the CFP committee places a high importance in the head to head win MSU has. So, wherever Michigan is placed, MSU will be one spot ahead of them. MSU needs to lose a 2nd game for MSU to go behind Michigan.
