Are we worried the Internet is going to run out of electrons or something? Its not like we're using up precious real estate. Personally I'd prefer separate threads rather than have to comb through a 200+ post thread on both topics. The Coaches' Poll is shit anyway and is of less interest to most fans.

We're clogging up space here by debating one vs multiple threads. I think we should make a thread to discuss whether polls should each have their own thread or not. What do you guys think? Is a making a separate thread to discuss how many poll threads to make worthwhile?

I think there should be one thread for those in favor of multiple threads, one thread for those opposed and one thread for the ambivalent. That is provided me get mgodead's blessing. You don't want to raise ire of him.

Restating the obvious here, but the coaches poll is a joke. They have MSU as #8 and above the likes of Louisville, Wisconsin, Georgia, and many others who have much more on their resumes than beating Furman at home.

That will shake itself out this week.  ND is favored by 7 against msu this week.  While I'm on the topic, Ohio St is a 2.5 pt favorite at Oklahoma.  Pre-season this was game that everyone excpected Ohio St to lose.  They look pretty good so far and still haven't given up a defensive TD.  Both of these games are very interesting and will tell us a lot about all four of these teams.

Ohio State looked terrible in the first half against freaking Tulsa.  It was only after a lengthy halftime delayed by thunderstorms that the home team was able to take control.  I imagine sitting in a shitty visiting locker room for an hour and a half isn't good for your competitive spirit.

I am not yet convinced that OSU is good yet.

Michigan moves up 1 spot and MSU gains by staying in place having not played. They have put 5 B1G teams in the Top 11. I don't know about that.

Obviously barely getting by its first two opponents has not hurt Clemson. Not that the Tigers were going to outslug the Tigers on the road, but the were pretty well schackeled by Troy.

I agree that beating an undefeated MSU would be better for our SoS, but more importantly (for me at least) I want our damn all time winning percentage statistic back. Most all time wins is nice, but so much better when it's accompanied by all time best winning percentage.
