MGoProfile to Return This Week
If not, we're proud to announce that the MGoProfile feature will return this week, on Friday, to be exact.
From there we'll try to run one of these at least every two weeks for the rest of the offseason. I say "we" because the talented M-Wolverine is slated to join the cause of providing a unique glimpse at some of the standout members of MGoBlog.
Again, look for the feature to return Friday, June21!
I think a John Lennon / Yoko Ono style pic with Brian and your interviewee would really help us get a feel for who they really are. Make it so.
Odds on the identity of the next MGoProfile subject
2:1 - Ace
3:1 - Heiko
5:1 - justingoblue
12:1 - Facepalm Guy
15:1 - Rapture Guy
50:1 - GhostofFebert
125:1 - RollDamnTide
500:1 - Greg Mattison
2,000,000:1 - saveferris
2) pay a small bribe to the corrupt, authoritarian MGoBlog Illuminati
3) . . .
4) Become dictator of an insolvent -- former -- democracy (f/k/a "profit")
The Hall of Fame needs updating, because Ace and Heiko's MGoProfiles are not there.
Because no one is sure if there's even going to be a Hall of Fame after the site revamp.
profitgoblue
I always though there would be an MGoProfile made on him because he seemed pretty interesting. But then I realized he is also kind of a d-ck so good riddance to him.
I wish there was a "hilarious" moderation option for this comment.
I figured avoiding MGoProfiles went along with putting away your mod Batsuit and stealing away overseas with Selina Kyle to live out your remaining days in anonymity.
A quitter?
Though if you're taking bets, I'll put some down on saveferris...have to like those odds.
BiSB
Edit: Six Zero informs me he's already been profiled. Guess I should re-read it.
Already done. Of course back when he was profiled, he went by the more pretentious "Blue in South Bend" handle.
Creating a name like "Blue in South Bend", or creating "BiSB", the acronym of a pretentious name like "Blue in South Bend".
(I kid, I kid ...)
I am in no way related to this "Blue in South Bend." I simply appeared at the same time he vanished. This was merely a coincidence.
Nothing to see here, FBI Agents who are searching for the OTHER Blue in South Bend...
...I think he adopted it because that's what I started calling him. One does not create a nickname of your self created nom de blog, its bestowed upon you.
"It wasn't his idea, it was mine..."
I am so excite :D
Wait, what?
Ionlypostwithgifs or what ever his name was wasn't still active. His responses to questions would have been very interesting.
Oh wait...never mind. I'm boring. Nothing to see here.
would take at least 6 weeks, because he is so many different people. You can't just profile RDT in one story.
He already interviewed himself.
One of my favorite features on the site returns, glad it's back. Really looking forward to them, SixZero.
Looking back at past MGoProfiles, it's sort of interesting to see how many guys who were "worthy" of them don't post here much anymore. TomVH, Formerly Anonymous, jamiemac, etc.
My theory on that is that MGoBlog started as a way for a nuanced section of Michigan fans to talk about the sports programs. Now that MGoBlog is so big, there has been an influx of the O$U and Ped State crowds. The intellectual side to the site is being replaced by "Ow My Balls!"
Besides the fact that literally no Penn State fans post here, basically spot on. You nailed it. There's also been an influx of the crowds who use stupid, overused nicknames for our rivals, can't forget those jackasses.
I think those jackasses are who he's referring to with O$U, Ped State, etc.
You hit the nail on the head. I actually enjoy engaging with fans from other fanbases, RDT excluded. I meant that the people here who declare their rigidity towards recruits, call other teams and fanbases by derogotory names, and add nothing but snark to the threads are what is hurting the boards. I just worded it poorly.
I think that the cutesy snark on here has kind of reached critical mass. I'm guilty of it too, but the board is kind of drifting towards being a caricature of itself. I'm of the opinion that tl;dr is in exact contrast to what the boards were supposed to be, but there is a lot of saccharine out there nowadays...
....you, as well as those giving you a thumbs up, skim 1484's comment and over look what is really quite obvious if you take the time to think about it.... sort of proving 1484's point.
Slow your roll.
There is very little funnier than this:
and I still think we're vastly more sophisticated here than almost any other sports blog out there. There's been more guys here who say things like "LOL...Urban Crier. Jk. O$$U!" but they still get negged constantly. Beating a dead horse, but if the old system came back, that kind of comment/poster would be quickly eliminated
I'm still around. They still invite me onto the podcasts. I lurk a lot. There was a 3-4 year stretch (beginning in the halo scan days) where I posted every day, as often as I could. It's worn off. I'm a little bored with the MGoForum these days. That said, I am more than disappointed in my diary output the last couple of seasons. I want to get back into that
you mean you have no opinion on video games, tips on moving or spartan recruiting?
If we get a vote then I nominate myself. I can even make up stuff so that I seem interesting.
but I nominate MGoShoe.
thanks anyhow. I thought this quote from the profile on MGoShoe was interesting, given that it was done in 2010 under the old points regime:
"The MGoPoints system isn’t perfect, but its obvious effect on minimizing trolls and jerky behavior in general is greatly appreciated. I doubt I’d be here without it because I’m not interested in participating in forums chock full of douchery."
...mention, Don. Here's where the existing MGoProfiles are archived.
BTW, looking forward to yours. I need moar insight into your lawn.
but my lawn is the best-trimmed bunch of weeds and crabgrass in A2.
...none.
Everyone should go back and read these. It makes it a lot harder to be an a--hole here to people that you know more about. Also, check out the people who commented on the profiles . . . They are the "who's who" of MGoBlog.
who's even more ignorant about sports than I am.
However, getting profiled on here would be a surefire sign that I have made it in this world. Contrary to getting the degree and it making me feel that way.
