MGoBlue's Photo of the Year contest
The mothership is doing an online "Photo of the Year" tournament, located here:

They label it as the "Blue" bracket which will lead me to believe there will be a "Maize" bracket.
Some decent photos in the bracket, yet if you click the link to buy pictures you'll see that the University will gladly take your pennies for what are some truly awesome pictures (it seems they sacrificed some awesome pics for the sake of representing a wider range of sports).
Since it's July and what not I figure this is worth discussing and propose you post your favorite picture from the past year. Mine is easily Stu's dunk and THJ's reaction:

Note: The bracket contest is of pictures taken by the athletic department's photographers, presumably. Therefore, the Denard Heisman pic (taken by a Daily photographer) will likely not be in the bracket.
I really wish I could buy a print of the Denard Heisman pose pic (against Notre Dame). Can you go to the Michigan Daily HQ and buy copies of older newspapers?
And have it proudly displayed on my wall framed. Now if only I had thought to get Denard to sign it while I was still at school...
He did sign it, he just signed so fast time went backwards and it hasn't happened yet.
Go to a good printer, and print it.
The Daily has its own photo archive store thingy on their website. They most definitely have prints of that Denard photo. It kind of irks me that the University latched onto that photo and doesn't acknowledge that a student took it.
It should be Denards Heisman pose in a landslide.
It looks like neither of those pics are in the contest. Not sure why.
They weren't taken by UM's photographers. The first was taken by a DetNews photographer, the second was taken by a Daily photographer.
May I suggest:

I know everyone's partial to Denard, but I gotta give props to that track photo. That is sweet. Also, David Hines got some air on that leap. Mad respect.
You've gotta love that. I remember the live thread... about 15 posts in a row all went "Stu can dunk?!?"

I was at Munn for that, it was pretty sweet. What a dump of a building.
At first I thought "it's obviously the Denard Heisman picture"...then I saw the Brock Mealer picture above. In retrospect, that was an unbelievable moment and I'm glad I got to see it in person.
I have got to get my daugher one of those Michigan colored volleyballs.
Also, I just made the photo of the drum major my desktop photo. Sadly, I don't remember his name, but I'll never forget his energy.
