META:? Any update on App Re-Launch?
February 13th, 2012 at 8:52 AM ^
Worked on Android as early as yesterday.
February 13th, 2012 at 8:57 AM ^
Not on my Android......
February 13th, 2012 at 9:03 AM ^
Check the Market. It was updated on 2/10/2012.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:18 AM ^
That did it, I should know better :)
February 13th, 2012 at 8:58 AM ^
Pretty sure I read somwwhere that Brian was going to restore the aps right after he put the old pos/neg point system back in place.
Hoping............
Worth a shot anyways........

I'm relatively new to the board, what exactly is the difference between the new system and the old system? I've tried looking it up and I can't find it.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:47 PM ^
The old system was just like voting on an OP. There was an up or down and the points actually counted towards your total. You got two points when someone "plussed" you and negative one when they negged you. It also cost each user a point to neg.

I have Android and I had to delete the APP then download it again.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:09 AM ^
but you can't post from it yet. Also the MGoBoard connection on the Android app is to the MGoBoard link at the top of the page, all the stickies are on top
February 13th, 2012 at 9:11 AM ^
I downloaded the latest version a couple of days ago and it runs. However, the MGoBoard posts are chronologically out of order. For example: the first post is dated Dec 6 2011, then Feb 4 2011, Jan 13 2011, followed by several 2009 posts before the latest 2012 posts. Perhaps I will try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Any suggests, nevertheless, are welcome.

Per the comment above...Look at this then look at your phone....
I definitely do not like having the sticky posts at the top...for me, that is pointless.
February 13th, 2012 at 11:04 AM ^
Agreed, I shouldn't complain about an awesome free app, but now always having to scroll down a 3rd of the page to get past the stickies is starting to get a bit annoying...
February 13th, 2012 at 11:06 AM ^
That's easy to fix. I'll let the Andriod guy know.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:13 AM ^
The furbees are all compiled, but it takes time to defrag all the jigawatts.
(I don't understand things)
February 13th, 2012 at 9:38 AM ^
You COMPILE the Furbees. Jeebus, do I have to do EVERYTHING around here?
(I do nothing around here)
February 13th, 2012 at 9:30 AM ^
I'm running the latest version, and the mgoboard post dates are as follows:
Moderator Action Sticky: 12/16/11
Creating a new thread? Here's....2/4/11
Hide Negative Posters Script 1/13/11
Listening to the game...Anywhere!10/3/10
UM Friendly bar locations...10/19/09
Etc....Clearly not chronological, and seem to be a feed from somes sub-category of useful information..
February 13th, 2012 at 9:46 AM ^
Those are the first posts you see when you pull up the mgoboard on your computer too. It's because they're important or so that people don't keep posting repeat threads.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:50 AM ^
.... "sticky" threads on the board. There should be 7 before you get to the recent posts.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:41 AM ^
JeepinBen, above, already figured it out. It looks like the app is taking everything from the MGoBoard linked at the top of the page (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard), and you're seeing all the stickied posts. Scroll down, and you'll see the current stuff.

I deleted the app from my iphone and when I search for "mgoblog" I get a University of Michigan app showing.
Help, please.
February 13th, 2012 at 10:23 AM ^
I bought a new iPhone and ran into the same problem.
February 13th, 2012 at 11:06 AM ^
You can always go into the updates section and then 'not on this iphone' tab, it houses all the apps you have previously downloaded. I reinstalled from there, but it's not working yet either on version 1.5.

February 13th, 2012 at 10:15 AM ^
When the app went down, I intially thought "oh this won't be so bad, i'll just check everything on my computer." i was wrong.....
February 13th, 2012 at 10:23 AM ^
Keep in mind that all updates have to get approved by Apple, which usually takes a week. As a result, I didn't wan't to submit a limited function version.
I finally figured out the issues with posting comments and replies on Sunday. I should be able to clean things up tonight, test things out for a day, then submit the update to Apple on Tuesday night. The update should then be in the store around next Monday or Tuesday.
There are few things that aren't working yet, but I'll fix those, if I can, in future updates:
- no comment counts on the board/front page/diary screens
- no user activity menu
- touching the title of the comment will not longer take you to the real web page
On the other hand, subjects now get auto-generated, so no more "Posted from iPhone"

I am going to miss the random "Posted from iPhone" comments that randomly appear on the board.

I just tried to upload the mgoblog app to my iphone -- still not working.
Specifically the Iphone App Store is not listing mgoblog. Rather, it lists the UM CBS Interactive app as the only available app.
Please advise (as I am experiencing withdrawl symptoms).
February 13th, 2012 at 10:41 AM ^
Look at the post right before yours.
February 13th, 2012 at 10:51 AM ^
Except I can not login.
February 13th, 2012 at 12:07 PM ^
This is as expected. We're working on logins.
February 13th, 2012 at 2:30 PM ^
My work around is leaving this always up in Safari on my iPhone.
February 13th, 2012 at 3:42 PM ^
Let's ask blue in south bend, he KNOWS everything!
February 13th, 2012 at 6:09 PM ^
Doesn't work on my iPad either, so I just bookmarked it in Safari. Renders pretty well and is actually a bit more functional than the app, anyway, as I can do important stuff like moderating people's posts. You know, the stuff that really matters.
February 13th, 2012 at 7:20 PM ^
MGoEveryone should delete app, use browser.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:30 PM ^
there has to be a drupal module that 'mobilizes' the site, yes?
