Let's compare the approach of Beilein with Austin Hatch to that of Harbaugh with Matt Falcon. WIth one it was clear that his ability to play was serverly comprimised and yet the scholarship offer remained. With the other the ability of the individual to play was questionable and yet the offer was pulled. Interesting.

That Harbaugh "pulled" any scholarship offer.  Rather, he offered a medical scholarship to Falcon, but would not allow him to play football due to his having his knee damaged twice in two years...........playing high school football.

What would happen to him in the B1G?

I do wish the kid the best of luck at Western and hope that his knee survives.

Austin would've been on a medical scholarship from the beginning if they needed it. They had an extra one that year and he had a chance to play with the team for the year. Also, it appears Harbaugh told him not to play his senior year to rehab and then early enroll so the Michigan staff could oversee his rehab on campus. He choose to play and injured himself again and still got a free scholarship offer to go to school. I don't see a problem with it at all.

Great get for Fleck.  Its a lot like Tayson Hill with UM except its a 4 year exposure risk.  But if he works out and stays healthy you get a P5 level rb.  Worth the risk at that level for sure.
