According to the Detroit News:

Malik McDowell is still "solid" about his commitment to Michigan State.  Visits to Ohio State and Florida State are on hold.

who cares.  Let the young man go where he wants.  If he ends up at State, and proves his mom right by getting in with the wrong crowd, so be it.  Personally, I hope he is able to get his family on board for wherever he wants to go.

Yep. Very much over this kid and his recruitment.  Best luck to him.  One thousand times more important is how Nuss manages Narduzzi's schemes, or how soon Narduzzi can go take an HC job somewhere else.  He's the best thing to happen to MSU in half a century of football.

As Brady Hoke continues to dig Michigan out of the personnel hole caused by people who thought they were more important than the University of Michigan, Sparty enjoys a personnel advantage on defense, but they won't have it for more than another season if that.

The only way that Sparty "coaches better defense" than Greg Mattison is by encouraging their players to break rules on every play because they know the refs won't call interference on every play.  Teaching someone to commit pass interference and holding 60 times a day is not preparing players "better" for the NFL.

For all of the Narduzzi knob-slobbing around the country, he has no NFL experience and hasn't won an NCAA Championship anywhere.  I really don't think anyone can say he prepares players better for the NFL than someone who has actually coached in the NFL, nor can he be said to be a better coach than someone who has helped a college team win an NCAA Championship.

Dantonio He coaches a much better defense than us
Uh, if by coaching, you are meaning holding, late hits, and breaking the rules consistently, then you are correct. This "dantonio and narduzzi are great defensive coaches" BS needs to stop on this site.

If he somehow ends up at Michigan, I would be all for it and welcome him warmly as it would mean he wanted to be at Michigan. Not having his mom's signature only matters for LOI, Malik can still attend Staee with full scholarship come fall. If he ends up at Michigan, that means he wants to be at Michigan. I don't know why anybody would not want the kid.

If i'm reading this correctly McDowell still very much wants to go the school he said he wanted to go to and will not be visiting any other colleges.

So we've still got a chance right?

I did an MgoSearch for "drama king." The first page didn't have anything relevant except for a reference to Les Miles as a "drama queen." I didn't waste my time looking at later pages.

I don't think I've ever heard someone referred to as a "drama king."

Okay, justify yourself however you need, but please note that directly before calling someone a drama queen you referred to Malik by saying "this guy". So either you are calling a teenager (whom you do not know at all) names or you can't write for shit. Please let me know which one you are.

He's been totally off the radar his whole recruitment, never seemed to love the spotlight. He took his time and picked MSU. The only reason this is a disaster is because his mom doesn't want him going there.

I don't really think it's on the McDowells. He was quiet throughout the process, when he could have gotten lots of attention, until he announced. I think his mother is very concerned about her son's well-being rather than simply seeking attention.

This is on the people who want more coverage and on the media who aim to satisfy that desire. It's the way of the world we live in.

Did anybody see this whole soap opera coming? I mean back in the summer it seemed like this guy was going to keep things low key and out of the spotlight. Amazing the way that recruiting is now.

Let's move on and build this 2015 class. Alabi...Weber and Cole should be major targets and prioritized.
