*Texas has more money than anyone that cares about football. Harvard has almost 12 billion more and Yale is slightly ahead of Texas.

If someone knew who the next "young Saban" was, he would be coaching at a big time school already.

Michigan, ND, Penn State, USC, Tennessee etc etc etc.

Doubt it, since I believe he recently signed an extension.

that Urban Meyer's wife was looking at homes down in Austin. She particularly likes one 4,000 ft place with a two-story fireplace in the great room, but isn't thrilled with the chintz wallpaper everywhere. Decisions, decisions...

but my, that would be a good one

We could give the Texas fanbase a serious lesson in Flight Tracker application.

Here is a photo of why Petrino is interested

I've tried looking really closely. I don't see any motorcyle.

a couple teams that Saban has escape clauses for in his new Alabama contract. Texas could be one of them?

is it a coincidence that the mack resigns when the mega millions jackpot is up to $500 Million

I spose it's time to go. I guess. He turned this year around with the help of Greg Robinson and had them within a win of the Big XII championship. Texas brings in talent and they should win more..but maybe the talent they bring in isn't what the stars say they are, which maybe he should scout high schoolers better, but, eh...I guess they need a fresh start.

If I'm texas I'd make a run at Charlie Strong. He would be my first choice and after that who knows. O'Brien could be a name, Not sure on Franklin for the Texas job though.
December 14th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
I'd rather have Bobby Petrino than Charlie Strong...

Actually, O'Brien is one that haven't heard a whole lot about. He's done a great job at PSU considering their situation. He should def get a pretty good look I would think.

Petrino was 12-1 his last year at Louisville and brought the team to the Orange Bowl, which he won. He was also 10-3 and 11-2 his last 2 years at Arkansas. He's a more accomplished coach. I don't care if he had a mistress. Arkansas's AD (Michigan Man) was made out to be a hero for firing him, but look where they are now.

Texas can get any coach they want. I doubt they want a DC with no experience.

Not that I think that will happen, but that's the only scenario I can see where Narduzzi ends up in Austin.

the plot thickens.

I read it as "Mack Brown re-signs with Texas" and I thought, "Oh good, so that's all squared away now."
Then I read it again and thought, "Waaaaaait a minute..."

Ya, you read the OrangeBloods report I presume? Some very shady stuff going on there and very disfunctional as well? The thing is, that's not for him to decide. That's what resignation means. Yet he felt the need to interfere completely.
December 14th, 2013 at 7:57 PM ^
...which means absolutely nothing because Saban has no buyout. His contract "extension" might as well be written in crayon on a napkin.
