Looking ahead at the remainder of the schedule

Submitted by I'mTheStig on September 21st, 2019 at 5:58 PM

I started thinking about the remainder of the schedule and what we've seen over the last 6 games now isn't a trend it's what Michigan is.

With that said if we look at each game one at a time, how does the season not play out like this?

W vs Rutgers.  Because Rutgers just plain sucks.

L vs Iowa.  Iowa is Wiscy lite.  Don't let Iowa's performance against ISU fool you -- they historically struggle in that game.  Just like Michigan has a fight on their hands with Iowa typically.

W at Illinois.  Yea for Peters and all but this is still a bad team.

L at Penn State

L vs Notre Dame

L at Maryland.  I'll get some negs here but Don Brown doesn't have an answer for offenses like this.

W vs Michigan State.  Fuck staee and their delusional sexual assault condoning fanbase.

L at Indiana.

L vs Ohio State.

That would make Michigan 5-7.  I hope you have alternate plans for your Saturdays.

Again, going back to the last 6 games, the coaching we've seen, tell me I'm wrong.

You must not understand the concept of hot take threads. These threads are meant for the OP's opinion to be validated. In the snowflakes threads, their comments won't be seen by most people due to getting buried in them. They're all for attention.

They're all for attention.

I could give two shits about getting attention.  That's your MO given your posting history.

This was meant to be an honest, sobering, wakeup call that given the state of the program, the record by the end of November could be .500 rather than the B1G and CFP that people were predicting 4 weeks ago here.

Still plenty of chances to fix a bad narrative. Penn State, MSU, ND, OSU. Only one on the road. Win some games and the talk goes away. Franklin was on the hot seat until they beat OSU

We'll finish 7-5 with losses to Wisconsin, Iowa, MSU, PSU and of course OSU.

Beat the teams you're supposed to and choke against any decent team with comparable talent. It's the Michigan way. BPONE forever.

I'll keep this thread in mind. Let's return to it on December 1st. I think this outcome is *possible*, but I also think it could easily end up going the other way, and we end up 8-4. Now anything better than 8-4 may require a leap of faith that I am not willing to make at this time based on what this team has shown.

Rutgers and Illinois are possible wins.  PSU, Iowa, ND, OSU are guaranteed losses.  I think State is a loss too.  This offense can't score on MSUs defense.

Playing like they are, Michigan won't win 5 games.

Take the emotion out of it, this team is bad and should not be ranked.  Beating Rutgers is not a given with no running game and no second string QB.

Taylor had almost 150 rushing yards and 2 TD in the First. Fucking. Quarter. Michigan’s running backs had a combined 0 rushing yards at the half. They were down 28-0 at halftime. They didn’t just “lose,” they lost like a MAC school. Show me on the schedule how this beyond-awful team wins even five more games.

They’re missing a bowl game this year. They definitely will lose to PSU, ND, and OSU. They’ll probably lose to Iowa and MSU. That’s 6-6 right there. Indiana has always given Harbs problems, especially on the road, and Brown can’t coach against offenses that have a pulse (possibly Maryland). Somehow if they win both, 6-6. They could just as easily lose both and go 4-8.

Regardless, this was supposed to be Harbaugh’s best season here and it’s going to be his worst instead. What a nightmare.

Yea I honestly only see two more wins on the schedule. I feel well pick up one more somewhere putting us at 2014 Hoke levels. All this talent on a team and quite possibly 5 wins. Horrendous. It makes me super sad I’m scared of losing to MSU. That defense is going to shred this O

Right now, I've got this team loosing next to IA then Penn State, ND & MD and last Ohio State for a 6 and 6 record. Indiana is way down this year.

It will be very difficult for this team to recover from the thrashing by Wisconsin. I'll need to see a 63-0 blowout over Rutgers to even have some hope. Maybe we'll face EMU in a bowl game in December.
