There's also UConn vs. UMass. The "yin" to the "yang" of Iowa vs. Penn State.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:30 PM ^
Known locally as the no one cares battle.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:01 PM ^
Annnd there goes Spencer rattler to the portal!!!!
October 9th, 2021 at 4:07 PM ^
Probably to Clemson and Dabo will win a lot with him in their weak ass conference.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:09 PM ^
I never got the hype with that kid.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
Rattler or the Clemson qb?
October 9th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
He looks like he wants to be good more than he actually is.. like he plays the part without the mental part.
Ande a pick for Iowa. Jeez. How many turnovers
October 9th, 2021 at 5:56 PM ^
He seemed pretty arrogant on that Netflix series.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
He’s a junior, right?
October 9th, 2021 at 4:09 PM ^
Feeling good about the fact Herbie time is behind us for the day.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:11 PM ^
But you now have Gus for the next 4 hours
October 9th, 2021 at 4:14 PM ^
True. Just happy don't have to listen to Herbie in Lincoln tonight on ABC.
October 9th, 2021 at 5:01 PM ^
Yeah but it’s McDonough for our game
October 9th, 2021 at 5:20 PM ^
McDonough is alright but he was far better when he was paired with Chris Spielman. Spielman is still my favorite analyst to this day. Probably the only Buckeye I can say I like.
Blackledge is below-average at best. The only good part about him being part of the crew is you get to see some good looking local cuisine at some point in the game. I'm a foodie so I like seeing what's out there.
October 9th, 2021 at 6:04 PM ^
McDonough = trouble with the snap
October 9th, 2021 at 4:12 PM ^
I just can’t believe Oklahoma won that game
October 9th, 2021 at 4:19 PM ^
Really? You must not have seen many Oklahoma/Texas games over the years.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:52 PM ^
Wild game but a lot of them have been like that in recent years.
Last year Oklahoma blew a 31-17 fourth quarter lead but pulled it out in overtime, 53-45.
In 2018, Texas blew a 45-24 lead but managed to kick a field goal to win it 48-45.
In 2016 Oklahoma led 42-27 in the fourth but had to hold on to win 45-40.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
Iowa/PSU is gonna be pretty much the polar opposite of Oklahoma/Texas, isn't it?
October 9th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
This is Iowa:
Throw the ball to the TE, run a couple times, throw to the TE, throw to the TE
October 9th, 2021 at 4:17 PM ^
One of my good friends, an Iowa grad, would absolutely agree. He told me that Iowa is doing "nothing special" on offense this year, and added that they've been pretty much doing "nothing special" on offense for the past 20 years.
October 9th, 2021 at 7:13 PM ^
Heh—make that 19 years. Their 2002 offense was a beast with Brad Banks at QB
October 9th, 2021 at 4:25 PM ^
That kinda sounds similar to Michigan if All or Schoonmaker could catch consistently.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
The whiplash between the Red River Shootout and this Iowa/PSU game is going to be something, isn't it?
October 9th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
Georgia and Auburn would like a word.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:18 PM ^
There's also a few middling ACC contests going on. Louisville/Virginia and Wake Forest/Syracuse. Exactly the kind of game where it's probably not worth much but there's the outside chance it's going to turn into one of those randomly exciting games.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:25 PM ^
I was exaggerating about "nothing else"
October 9th, 2021 at 5:17 PM ^
Bo Nix is a liability
October 9th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
Hawkeyes are crazy
October 9th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
Iowa has made some deal with some deity when it comes to this interception rate.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
Da Faq!
October 9th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
Horrible play by Penn State
October 9th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
Wow. A huge Nittany NO there...
Iowa makes their living on picks. Looks like today will be no exception.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
What was Clifford doing?
October 9th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
Mertz doing Mertz things.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:17 PM ^
Must have been the pink locker room that led to that lazy PSU pass.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:17 PM ^
PSU defense stepping up right there. keep them to a FG attempt
October 9th, 2021 at 4:19 PM ^
PSU crapping the bed, which I enjoy thoroughly. Highly unlikely they would have gotten through Columbus to set up Judgment Day II anyway.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:19 PM ^
Why would anyone go to Iowa to play football?
The most boring offense in the most boring state.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:19 PM ^
Iowa really doesn't have any playmakers on offense, do they? PSU has a really good defense but Iowa looked like they were already planning for the FG after that first play.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:20 PM ^
Iowa's defense is their offensive playmaker.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:21 PM ^
Also Colorado St. vs San Jose St.
I mean we do play CSU next year and that's my undergrad alma mater. So... GO RAMMIES!?
Update: Former Michigan P Will Hart plays for SJSU? Weird... Update 4: Will Hart just punted for 69 yards. +1 for long punt. +1 for 69 cause you know.
Update 2: Drinking Dragon's Milk Scotch Barrel-Aged Stout. Let's drink!
Update 3: Flipping back to Iowa vs PSU - Iowa stadium fans have done a helluva job with their color coordination sections. Don't like them of course, but very nice job.
Update 5: Does Clifford have wheels? The guy has racked up some decent yards when needed. I almost imagine this is what JJ will do.
Update 6: If I was back in Ft. Collins (voted best college town in the most recent bullshit poll), I'd want to party with Devin Gardner. He's doing a great job in the booth.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:48 PM ^
Re; update 2... That sounds delicious ?. A couple of those and you won't care who wins the afternoon games. New Holland makes some good beer. I like their taproom, good place to hang out during Tulip Festival ?
Having a couple Founders Oktoberfest beers with some snacks watching Iowa/PSU.
October 9th, 2021 at 5:01 PM ^
Re; Re; Update 2: It is very delicious and I had been saving it in my barrel-aged beer collection since moving back to GR from Denver last year. I typically find that New Holland's stouts are more porter-y than stout-like but great either way.
Also what's new in Rockford these days? Graduated from Comstock Park many moons ago but all the relatives have always lived in Rockford and Forest Hills.
October 9th, 2021 at 5:49 PM ^
Another brewery opened on Childsdale Road, Third Nature Brewery. Have not been there, but whenever I drive by there are people there. Area growing very fast, lots of new construction. Football team 21-1 last two years, looks like another conference championship.
Welcome back to West Michigan ?
October 9th, 2021 at 5:07 PM ^
Wait, Will Hart transferred? I thought he just graduated. Why did he leave?
October 9th, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
The portal knows no bounds. Tell your friends...
October 9th, 2021 at 4:25 PM ^
PSU's passing offense is solid. Doesn't seem like they can really run it against Iowa but this can work against Iowa.
October 9th, 2021 at 4:27 PM ^
Ferentz always looks ready to "speak with the manager".
