Absolutely hilarious gif.
As to why this guy would wager so much, he must have considered how long it's been since we've won in Columbus. Wasn't like 20 years or something? And like 7 years since anyone has won there. And figured it was a sure bet, an easy $200K.
He chose...poorly.

By my eyewitness account, UM won in Columbus in 2016.

Oregon won there last year

Yesterday someone brought this up and was saying we were screwed. "He wouldn't bet that much if he didn't know something."
Nah, he was just an idiot.

Was he an idiot..or a Buckeye? Perhaps they’re the same…

lol. the “he wouldn’t bet that much unless…” is just. so. dumb.

Honestly, the guy made a good bet... it just didn't work out.
He probably heard Corum and Edwards would be limited or out. Based on the data out there he made the right calls..that's gambling

Putting up $753K to win $239K is a good bet?
November 27th, 2022 at 12:52 AM ^
I'm not a gambler, but betting $753K to win $239K seems really, really stupid.
November 27th, 2022 at 12:55 AM ^
And here I am uneasy about throwing $20 in a slot machine. 753K is some serious FU money.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:09 AM ^
Such an exactly odd amount to lose. Why not make it $750,000 and save the $3,535 for your grandkids' college education?
November 27th, 2022 at 1:16 AM ^
Probably safe to say a bump or two of blow were involved.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:17 AM ^
....and some hookers!
November 27th, 2022 at 1:33 AM ^
Craig James has entered the chat... allegedly.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:05 AM ^
He would have had a better time spending 50k on hookers and blow, and the rest on scratch off tickets.

Yeah you could really tell it messed with Days decision making.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:19 AM ^
Because that number was lucky, duh.

All in

You see those kids' grandparent? They're not going to college.

Ahem, I live in Ohio so I actually can translate their rationale… he bet that amount because in his head the payout total(including his bet) equaled a million flat. They don’t math good. It was wonderful watching Sportscenter 3 times this AM so far. I love all of your Maize and Blue hearts!

I casually watched the line over the last three or so days, I don't think it ever got below 7.5 points. But most interestingly, after going to 8 points after this particular bet, it moved to 9 just hours before kickoff.
Like others, I thought someone knew something. Could have been how limited Corum would be. But it turns out, the people who knew something... Were in Michigan's locker room.

Ya hate to see it. I’m sure it was a standup fella who just lost this bet.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:11 AM ^
JJ’s over/under on rushing was 14.5
November 27th, 2022 at 2:38 AM ^
I would have bet $42.27 the other way.

God, Elon Musk really is dumb.

"Whose got it better than us?" NOBODY! However, Casinos are a very close second. They made a lot of money on that game. Between drunk Buckeyes at Thanksgiving and news of Corum and Edwards leaking, many sure-fire bets were being placed that backfired.
