Juwan Howard & rapper/former MSU student Tee Grizzly hanging out in Ann Arbor!

Tee Grizzly was once a student at MSU and stole laptops and sold them while there in order to survive. He even shouts them out in one of his songs.

Seems like he’s on our side now, though.

Stole laptops so he could survive? Get the fuck out of here. He stole lap tops because he’s a piece of shit.

Jeezus - did he write this seriously?

"He had it rough, see.  From day one the mean streets of East Lansing called out to him.  Like a siren to a muse.  Or a muse to a siren.  Couches burning.  Sure, it was Spartanland but he knew he'd make it big...just. one. more. laptop.  Then, it happened - bam - the cuffs. the prints. the photo lineup.  He knew he could never go back.  Not now.  Over the hill he'd heard of a place - someplace.  where even Devotees are free to be.  He schemed and scored a Gateway - sure, it was from the fab5 era but perhaps that was the ticket...he was on THEIR side now."

Is this a good look for Juwan?   I mean, Beilein seems to have avoided Webber, and Juwan is embracing this guy.  I hope the end justifies the means, whatever it is.

Appreciate the support, but...hopefully he's a changed man (which he may well be). Stealing laptops from other folks who are also just "tryin' to survive", is not cool. When you are also a student, it's hard to make the argument that you need to do such things to survive, regardless of your background.

Yeah, there is no viable reason to steal other people's laptops to survive.  Now, if you want to steal shit to make money and then write songs later to justify it and appeal to people who think taking what isn't yours is being "real", then yeah, makes sense.  But that's a lot harder to drop over a beat.

1. Why is there an exclamation point in the title? This isn't that exciting.

2. Tee Grizzley is a bad rapper.

3. Most MSU alums I know in their mid 20s aren't very proud to have him singing about stealing laptops in the dorms. I don't think we want to adopt him as a Michigan fan...

This is why the money and power in Ann Arbor will never support the basketball program.  You don't have to like it but its a fact.  Embrace the culture, I guess.  Great hire....

Awaits inevitable Larry Nassar rabble rabble blah blah.  Rape enablement blah blah blah.
