this seems like a pretty normal response from a teenager. He committed, got some bad news and is understandably irked, and gave a quote to the media in the immediate aftermath of that news. He was a big driver of the the class stating together and I’d bet he has a more nuanced perspective in the coming days. A lot of shit will continue to change between now and fall camp. Let’s see where the bad news actually comes rather than prognosticate it

Ummm, he didn’t say he was ANGRY anywhere in the statement you quoted. Not happy could be DISAPPOINTED. And blindsided has a different connotation than what he actually said as it implies (IMO) intent to deceive.

But keep making shit up. Whatever makes you feel better about things.

if he wants to play for a guy who allows 500 yards a game and 48 points vs their best opponent every year maybe he isn't the kind of mentality of a player we want.

What are we suppose to do, keep Brown who is a failed coach. Not, he needed to go. I ponder the same question about our HC, if he is failing, why keep him around. Though, I guess JH will get a 2nd chance if he wants to take it. I still think he will sign with an NFL team while stringing us out into January.

Every coaching staff change everywhere in college football triggers this kind of response from somebody.  It goes with the territory.  Nothing unique here.

Easy to see both sides and not mad at either. Little man is 17 or 18 and feels slighted. I get it and can't blame the young man. For all his issues on the field DB seemed like a really good guy that genuinely cared about the players and recruits (and openly expressed it). Even if you deep down know a change is coming when you are a player it is easy to get emotionally attached to guys like that.

So I get it and he should take some time and think it over but I assume UM will release him from his LOI if he wants out.

I find it surprising that there is anyone out there that didn't expect a coaching shake up after this year. Yes, Michigan handled it wrong and continues to do so, but I mean come on...EVERYONE knew people were going to get fired.

I bet it's just an 18 year old feeling emotionally attached to a good dude and he's processing it right now. I remember going to a board meeting as a player to stick up for a coach pleading but it was really the right decision the coach was let go for performance. But I mean I was an 18 year old high school student and couldn't see the situation from 100 feet away, let alone strategically thinking how this all works with a 50,000 ft view.

How do we know Michigan did it wrong?  We have nothing more the one recruit saying he was disappointed.  We have no idea what these recruits were told directly.  I would think there would be a lot more news clips if defensive recruits were being told Don Brown is returning.

EJ Holland tweeted that Brown stayed on the recruiting trail while knowing he would not return and he also informed each recruit that he would not be returning. Brown also is receiving a 1.7 million buyout check for Christmas so the whining pity crowd on here can shut up about feeling sorry for Don. Compare that to the paltry $600 our lovely Congress agreed upon to help struggling families

Not everything is about money.  Sure the buyout check is great, but money really doesn’t buy happiness.  Would you be happier to be publicly vilified and fired and get paid a huge chunk of change or be successful, doing what you love while keeping your job?

Typical hate from Freep (Orion Sang/Rainer Bama-lover-@$$hole Sabin) -- I mean, the "ink ain't even dry yet" and this "reporter" finds it necessary to get ahold of a 17-19 year old kid (Colson) and say crap like...

"Hey man, I just saw a tweet that Dr. Blitz is gone at Michigan" - - "Did they call you?"

"Are you withdrawing your LOI???"   "OSU is in the playoff b1tch."

I mean, I can't believe a "grown-@$$ man" reporter (I use that term loosely) has the gall to undermine the UM football program recruit like that.  What a hack job.  Absolutely a click--whore.

Michigan needs to pull press credentials from Sang/Sabin indefinitely for "anti-UM hate speech" They can write their trash from their own flea infested dump apartments next year, NOT from the comforts of the Press Box at the Big House.

Its BS, no way to sugarcoat it.

Most kids commit to the coaching staff they bonded with. Some go to their dream school.

This board is so predictable, look back at the Mike Weber threads.

Classic Michigan " but ours doesn't stink"

Do people really think Junior Colson wasn't communicating with the staff about Don Brown still being there next year?  He was recruited to play Viper in Don Brown's defense.  These kids don't live in a vacuum, he knew what people were saying about Don Brown.  There's no way he didn't ask for some assurance that Brown would be his coach, none.

When this shit happened to Mike Weber at OSU we all talked about how shitty OSU is for doing that to him.

When Dantonio stepped down after signing day, and his bonus, we all talked about how shitty he was for doing that to their class.

Michigan just did the same shady bullshit. Even more reason Harbaugh needs to go. We aren't running a winning program. And now we aren't even running an honest one.
