I personally view even a chance to get into the tournament this year as a positive outcome. Last night was a good start and we didn’t even have everyone out there. I can’t imagine where we’d be without the portal thank god.
Dug is exactly the leader we thought he’d be. Granted we are one game in but I think UNCA was favored to win their conference if I’m not mistaken. And we dominated them beginning to end. IU and MSU struggled in their games too. I think it will be touch and go this year but hard to see this as anything other than an absolutely promising start. And we don’t even have all our guys out there!
Waiting for the investigation to play out is the only right call here and everyone knows it. But the Big Ten coaches are out for blood that is clear. Let’s hope sanity and due process prevail against the mob.
It just seems like both Blake and Donovan went down on first contact immediately last night. Granted the line didn’t help them too much and Purdue loaded the box, those are factors too. But until he broke his big runs in big games last year we had our reservations about Edwards. Let’s hope when it counts he will show up big again.
I feel like they fought hard for what they were able to get given all their injuries and limitations. Especially on defense they seemed to be very tough at times and made us work for everything at times, other bits it was more about JJ just being off.
Morgan is just blazing fast. Can’t wait to see the creative ways we get that kid in space in the coming years. He’s going to be a real weapon. As for Donovan I like getting him involved in some different ways although I think his primary area of success will be as a receiver out of the backfield like we saw on that long pass.
This is what is supposed to happen. A big win against an inferior team, even if JJ was a bit off and the run game struggled. That’s why this team is built this way, to win in any number of ways and under any number of scenarios and it played out just fine. Next week is next week and a whole new ballgame. Time for the gauntlet to begin.
If you want a big play to wake up the offense. You just saw it baby! Can’t wait to see more of Morgan in the future. Dynamic with speed and a bright future.
I’m pretty confident in our defense here with Purdue having to go 95 yards. They’re gonna have to start passing soon and we can pin our ears back. The offense will get more chances and just have to find a way to put it all together.
I don’t know what it is but routes just seem like they are not coming open. And when they are JJ has had a little trouble hitting them. It happens. Up to the D to pin them.
Feel very confident we are going to get a more accurate JJ in the second half. Defense has been strong as always. The running game needs to show up of course, seems like we had some creativity there to start then it devolved into simply jamming it up the middle over and over. Should be a solid second half.
I love the agreement by all the guys that even though OSU is “ranked” number 1 that they are not the best team. Another reason college football rankings are meaningless until the last one.

Exactly, and the article kind of downplays this by insinuating the NCAA wouldn't care that the information was illegally obtained off of a computer. I know they will still consider the evidence but at the same time there should absolutely be a penalty for whomever paid to have this done (Day).
Exactly. It's not like we can just sit around and shrug off the injuries of guys who are even going to contribute a little bit to this year's team. It's not like we have a ton of bodies to throw out there. Almost every guy on this roster is probably going to be asked to contribute at one point or another this year and I think dismissing any sort of injury is going to be big mistake.

The thing about OSU’s offense is that Wisconsin isn’t getting a ton of pressure it’s just McCord making questionable throws. With us he’s going to be getting a lot more heat.
That is just one hell of a disappointing sequence for Wisconsin. Imagine if they’d scored there and then gotten the ball back next quarter. What a mess.

I am no offensive guru by any means, but I am wondering if there is a way to get both Edwards and Corum in the backfield together? Just a thought.

McCord just panics when pressured. I like this about him.
While they have had some good plays on third down, they cannot keep getting in third and long situations they are going to get wrecked.

That third down play was brutal and you could just feel the momentum on the drive switch.
