Jordan Morgan to Timberwolves
MLive is reporting that Jordan Morgan will join the Timberwolves as a UDFA and will play in their Summer League team.
Looks like GRIII will have some company!
Great news for JMo!!!
But it'd be awesomer if they updated it, as several of his most memorable plays occurred after senior day.
Not a video, but...
The Orlando summer league ends July 11th , the same day as the Vegas league starts. If he hasn't gotten at least a training camp invite to Minnesota by that day, it's not uncommon for players to leave the Orlando league early and head to Vegas. A different set of NBA teams will have teams in Vegas.
Does he get any money for playing?
I know they at least get a stipend while being housed.
Just to clarify, the Timberwolves are playing in the Las Vegas summer league, and Morgan will apparently report for a mini-camp on July 7.
Flip says the next step is a summer league mini-camp on July 7 before #Twolves first summer game on July 12 #WolvesDraft

We know he wanted an opportunity to begin to build a path into the pros, and here it is. This is excellent news, of course, and hopefully he gets the opportunity to not only play with a Michigan teammate but do so in the regular season if the Wolves happened to pick him up (it's summer league, so nothing is in writing, I think). He's already set up well for success after basketball through his education, but it will be fun to see how long he can do what he has said he would do - stay in basketball as long as possible.
Thanks all you can ask. Hopefully he sticks there or shows enough to make it somewhere. Best of luck to you JMo
they could have guaranteed that Love would stay. Of course it may have affected draft decisions also but could have created a major conundrum for me at least.
Good for him. A bit of a longshot to make the league, but then again I don't think people expected him to have as good of a career as he has. Hell, he got a letter from POTUS - might as well dream big.
He gets an opportunity, and that's what matters.
JMo has always made the most of his opportunities. This MAY be a bridge too far, but if any undersized, less athletic center is capable of making the leap, then JMo is.
Worse comes to worse, he could probably play overseas. A high school classmate of mine who has a similar build as JMo (but likely with a lower basketball IQ) is currently playing pro overseas. Their standards are notably lower.
Either that, or JMo could use his Michigan engineering degree and make more money than most of the second rounders will make!
although, apparently he hasn't finished his master's yet, but still.
Did it for the others and will for Jordan as well.
Is it Timberwolf or Timberwolve? Honest question.
Good luck to him. Definitely will be pulling for him. True role model, and a great Michigan Man
Morgan is one of those good guys who did things right. If kama means anything, he will find himself playing in the NBA.
Congrats Jordan!!!
go JMo!
Beautiful. I'm a Twin City resident and a T-wolves fan. Excited now that I may see both GR3 and JMo in action. I wouldn't put it past JMo to eventually make it to the NBA.
At least only one at a time.
I usually wouldn't wish that on anyone, but since he is a local boy, it would be neat. And he would have a huge following.
I know he will be one of the hardest workers and will play smart and make few mistakes. I am glad JMo got a chance he deserves it.
Can someone run by the green room to get coach.
Man now I have to add the T-Wolves as a team to root for alongside the Pistons, Jazz, Thunder and Kings... Sorry THJr, but the Knicks? Never.
