Alternative jerseys to be worn tonight. Be prepared.

Everyone acts as if Michigan has worn the same uniforms for the entire history of the program. The uniforms are always evolving and one off Changes for a game should not cause such an uproar. Damn people, some of you live to whine.

Tiny tweaks over several decades isn't the major changes we are complaining about here. And this isn't one change; it's 6 major overhauls in 26 games:

--UTL 2011 uniforms

--Bumblebee 2011

--Sugar Bowl 2012

--Alabama 2012

--Outback Bowl 2013 (which were illegal according to NCAA regulations)

--Possibly tonight

Add in the changes to the helmets (Matte finish and added numbers) and that's an awful lot of change happening in a short period of time. My only hope is they truly do look like NASCAR uniforms so people such as yourself join our ranks.

I suppose I'm ok with alternate uniforms as long as they don't look like total sh*t which Dave Brandon has not proven to be adept at yet. After the bumblee debacle, I'll never trust again

If we live in a day and age in which we have to exploit every possible avenue to make more money, and, if our normal home jerseys are the best in college football, why don't we waltz out in our bee costumes against IU and Minnesota, and actually wear our classic uniforms for the classic games.

(Yes, I know that if we beat a big team while wearing uniformz, people will buy more of them.)

"Turn back the clock" night in honor of Tom Harmon.

1940 Harmon Michigan Pants

Basically the same as today's with all the bells and whistles and stripes and logos removed. And a block M on the socks.

This is not about Dave Brandon. Its about the Michigan uniform. The question is, are alternate uniforms an enhancement or a detraction. On the one hand, is the camp that really hates them. On the other hand is the camp that does not care (neutral). There are maybe three people that like them. Thing is, if they were tastefully done, that would be one thing. They are all inferior to the traditional uniforms.

Dave Brandon has been a magnificent AD, otherwise. He just has little fashion sense.

interested in seeing what they came up with.

I'm not a member of the "hate all changes to the Jersey" crew. get with it or get over it.

who knows, Adidas might get it right. /s

Respect The Process guise. I really don't like DB at all anymore if this is true. He's done great in raising dollars, and expanding the athletic campus, but he's killing The Brand (ironically).

They add nothing to the game and look really boring compared to the regular, modern uniforms.  I don't have a problem per se with special game uniforms, but at least make them cool and modern somehow.

If true - and if it's not a completely subtle/trivial change...

Fuck you, Brandon.  The only thing I don't like about seeing video and photos from UTL is not seeing Michigan against Notre Dame in each team's classic uniform.  To me, those images would be much nicer if we had been wearing, you know, the best uniform in sports.  This crap is so misplaced for a home game against Notre Dame.

Okay, rant over and time to calm down and get back to getting excited for the game.

Michigan in alternate uniforms is like the guy that buys a brand new Mercedes E class or BMW 5 series and then prompty goes and buys 22 inch spinners and adds wheel well chrome to boot.

These people never understand that subtlety is the mission plan.

Big games and special uniforms will attract the interest of our high profile recruits attending tonight. The direction of the program is trending upwards... so don't let an alternate uniform put a bad taste in your mouth.

What happens when a player goes off and has a stellar career wearing a legends jersey? For example, does it become Desmond Howard's legend jersey or George Campbell's?
