The “Big Blue” thing drives me nuts.  I only hear it in my life when well intentioned friends are happy for me because of a big win in Football and/or Basketball.  It’s typically well intentioned, but I always correct them.

"Big Blue" is part of a cheer performed at the Crisler Center by members of our very own cheerleading team at every game we attend.

We're all free not to embrace it of course, but you might want to factor in that the athletic department apparently has.

Thus, the "well-intentioned" are not incorrect by current UM AD cheer standards.

I personally like the "Big Blue" references and embrace our beloved university stealing claim to an entire primary color--it's better than owning "the"...

Admittedly, I don't get their "go for two" cheer, when three is an option, but hey...history.

Go Blue, my friend! 〽️

Notice that I didn't even put "Big" in front of it...I'm thoughtful like that. More importantly, it would have been an improper use.

So if I have this correct, using "natty" is lit if you're 20 years old or younger, but if you're 21+ it's "cringe," amirite? Or is that cap?

Low key, what if we actually WIN a national championship? Then I feel like it hits different. It's the term for me. "Natty." Makes you sound like a simp.

This whole thread is mid.

These posts simultaneously make me stoked...and confused...

Do we want Charley boys?! I guess that may be better than "Billy Boys" (apologies to all the Billys out there!).

Predictable board response to insiders.

GoJ has posted this way from the very beginning.  At first people here were happy we had an actual insider posting actual informaiton, albeit in a sort-of code.   Then as time goes on more and more posters are focusing on the code, not the content in the post, and express displeasure that he's not providing the information in the manner they desire.

Then, in the final stages before we eat the insider he's downvoted because he either gives us bad news we dont want to hear or he does it a fashion that board doesnt like.  Either way we manage to make the insider feel bad and they stop posting here.  Happens. Every. Time.

Then we all look at each other and wonder why we have no insiders.

I can't confirm this because I don't have a subscription, but I'm pretty sure this info was posted on the front page of the Michigan Insider 247 page behind a paywall a bit before GOJ posted...so I think he's just having a bit of fun with the board. Doesn't seem like insider info but maybe the actual date isn't behind the paywall? Curious if any subscribers can confirm/deny.

*PLZ Don't neg me GoJ I love your posts and will die for your right to speak in riddles!!!!

I find the way GoJ presents the info to be fun and interesting. But they have pretty clearly never been an insider. All the information they post can fall into one of three categories: pure speculation that you could find on any recruiting insider board, information that has already been posted by real reporters, or just wrong stuff. It's mostly just the first type, and sometimes that stuff turns out to be true, but it's always been obvious that GoJ is not an actual insider.

He has, on at least one occasion, posted true insider information. Before Mike McDonald was hired or even heard of by anyone on this board, he posted that Michigan was aiming to bring in a young NFL defensive position coach for its next coordinator. No name was given, but the details were all correct.

The rest of his posts? Hard to say.
