The trends in Crystal Ball immediately before a decision tend to be accurate though. Matt Falcon received about 6 picks to Michigan the week before he committed and Robert Washington continued to receive more Syracuse picks up until last Saturday. While I agree that the old picks skew what you see in the Crystal Ball percentages, the most recent picks for recruits before they commit tend to be pretty educated and insightful.

I believe it was said that he may commit soon, but we don't know when. There could be a trend toward another school in his future. Given his general reticence, the stated lack of knowledge in general, and his penchant for correcting mis-reporting, I'm going to avoid getting too excited by drinking until I black out.

"the crystal ball took a swing this AM towards Michigan"

"I put in a #CrystalBall for #Michigan: http://michigan.247sports.com"

"However, 3 of the last 4 picks have been in favor of Michigan...and the 1 pick for Syracuse in those 4 comes from an Ohio State site."

"Steve Lorenz was one of the recent 3 and he usually doesn't make picks towards Michigan unless he is pretty confident"

"Usually, a trend in picks that is very recent is more likely to be correct than picks that were made months prior. I mean if Michigan picked up 5 picks (for the sake of argument) in the past week, and all of Syracuses picks are from December/January, there's probably more foundation in those Michigan picks."

"Definitely feeling Michigan for Washington more than I had in the recent past, ...."

Don't know why he hasn't narrowed this further. He's going to declare in a week or two, right? So his Top 7 is almost certainly down to a Top 2 or 3 at this point. Is he keeping a large list in order to have more hats on the table at his press conference?

He's been really quiet the whole time. He basically hasn't narrowed anything for about a month now, it's just outside sources speculating based on talking to someone who maybe knows stuff.

Why should he. Keeping his options open until he makes the final decision. Maybe news breaks from one of the schools he's deciding between that eliminates them. It's not hurting him to keep those options there. The coaches will likely have a feel for the situation so the only ones hurt are the fans following recruiting, and why should he cater to you?
