Dax Hill 2.0?
Seems very unlikely. He hasn't met with Juwan yet and is coming off visits to UNC and Kansas.
Our bagman better get moving fast.
Maybe he already did.
This
All the Jalens are OURS!
Kansas. Howard hasn't even taken the recruiting test per Sam Webb (not sure what's taking so long).
You sure get every bit of mileage possible out of your gifs.
It’s Maizen!
Yay points working! Thanks HUEL, thanks Seth!
He's probably doing sex to your mother
What recruiting test?
There's a basic NCAA test that coaches need to pass so they can recruit. It needs to be completed before a coach can recruit in person off of their own campus.
Isnt Howard supposed to be visiting him Monday? Seems like he would've taken it if so.
Where did you see that he's visiting him on Monday? Dylan at UMHoops claims that Jalen's mom told him last night that a visit hasn't been scheduled because Juwan hasn't passed the test yet.
Twitter, which is prob my fault for actually following Twitter
Hey, Dylan's information is from last night. Maybe they talked today and scheduled the visit for Monday?
Apparently it’s an open book test BUT the regulation book is like 400 pages long.
Plus if a person fails, they aren’t allowed to retake the test again for another 30 days.
At first I was baffled that JH25 hadn’t taken it yet. But given the circumstances I totally get why now. At this phase of the 2019 recruiting cycle, it would be catastrophic if he took it and failed.
Measure twice & cut once.
Yes, it marginally reduces the odds of getting Jalen Wilson back into the 2019 class. But in my view, the dude was already a long shot anyway once JB and Yak left.
In light of all that, it’s far better to invest the extra few days now to ensure you pass the damned test the first time. Otherwise, practically the ENTIRE home stretch of the whole rest of the 2019 class could be placed in serious jeopardy.
we have at least 2 on staff that have taken that test - saddi and the guy from philly. we can do this. that is, if we can compete with kansas bagmen.
I mean as a recruit or member of the recruits family I’m sure they are fine hearing from two assistants instead of the head man who no one has any idea of what he is running offensively and defensively
Think as a recruit or recruits parents that aren’t diehard Michigan fans. It’s a legit red flag so far.
Especially given that most of his time here has been during a recruiting dead period.
Is it pass/fail?
Maizen, you still suck...
JMFH has never recruited a kid in his life to play college basketball. Maybe he wants a few weeks to study the stoopid-ass rulebook before taking a test on it?
Sure, I'll use one of my newly earned MGoPoints to neg Maizen!
may it be repaid tenfold with likes
I upvoted you.
+1 for perseverance.
To Michigan
Not good Bob.
HEY everybody!
Less than 90 days!!
D'oh!
It’s poop again
He gone.
Obviously did not really care about Michigan the school. We don't need that type. Move the commit date up so we don't have to read this stuff any longer.
Dude, he lost the coach he specifically committed to. He came here for Beilein, and Beilein is gone. At the end of the day, Howard is a complete unknown as far as head coaching is concerned.
If le goes to UNC or KU, it’ll suck, but I can’t say I’d blame him. So spare me this oh welll he didn’t care about the school bullshit. The guy wants to make basketball his career. We don’t know yet what Howard can do. But we know what Bill Self and Roy Williams can do.
This is a bad take.
What are the chances this is good news?
Ask again later.
I would say 33% chance.
I didn't know that there was a test coaches have to take to be able to legally recruit.
In any event, there's 0.01% doubt in my mind that if we'd flubbed this technicality, it'd be our asses in the wringer, but the NCAA wouldn't even notice if it was Louisville, Kansas or UK.
Louisville could have the hooker brigade take the test for the coaches and no one would question the fake ID.
The differences between the way Michigan has handled all past such indiscretions, and how those habitual offenders handle things, are stark. Here are the school's official response when the NCAA lays out a charge:
NCAA: 'You've been caught, ahem, disobeying our arbitrary rules.'
UNC, UL, UK, UK (etc): 'Umm, okay whatever, now step aside, we've got a game to play'
Michigan: 'Oh no, we're sorry! Here, have unconditional access to our records for the last 50 years! What can we do to help your investigation, we want to fix this right now and take our punishment in accordance with the arbitrary and unfair bylaws of the NCAA that we agreed to uphold regardless of how bad you diss us on the field, or how unfair the scheduling practices are for sports like baseball, softball, and golf. Please, whatever we can do to get our punishment quickly, to get behind all of this, so we can all move on in harmony again!'
Never heard of that test. Warde should have hired a few people who could have taught JH fast and locked them in a room until he was ready to take it.
I see your point but it seems to me that Howard has even more important priorities than taking the test as soon as possible after his hire. #1 Get his staff hired and organized. #2 Undertand the entire current situation. #3 Make sure he knows the material so well he is certain to pass it the first time.
I’d never heard of it either, but JH getting his staff together was a far bigger priority, in my mind.
Michigan basketball is far bigger than any one guy. If losing Jalen Wilson means JH has time to get the best possible staff in position, then it’s a small price to pay.
It's alright. We got Franz.
