I hope he comes back soon, but also hope they don't rush him. It'd be nice to have Jake back, but let's make sure he is 100% or close to it.

Seconded. Particularly since, as badly as I want Michigan to win Saturday, this game is not that consequential to Michigan's goals this year. Unless you really think we're competing for a playoff slot this season (we all hope, but I think we can agree it's absurdly unlikely) the key games of the season all come later. In the end, win all the games we're supposed to and the result Saturday will be forgotten. Let's make sure Jake can swing the biggest games later on.

Beating ND is not consequential to Michigan's goals this year? The result of the ND game will be forgotten? wtf? I cannot relate to that thinking. In one very legitimate way of looking at things, the whole f'ing season is beat the Irish, beat Staee, beat Ohio.

edit: Though I'm not advocating pushing a player onto the field who's not ready.

I would consider it important, but secondary to defeating OSU and MSU and getting to Indianapolis. I'd love to beat ND, especially the way they've gone about ending the series, but if we can't have it all, I'd rather take the loss in South Bend and have what I said in the first sentence.

Yes, he was running with the ones in the video. However, it was a short clip and no contact. So he may be running with the ones, but he also may not be doing involving full contact. Hopefully he is back ready to go this week.

The clip I think I saw him in was non-contact. May still be working him back. Who knows. Either way, if he did play, he'd be very limited in the number of snaps he could go.

Would there be any reason to have a guy who won't play run with the 1s during a week where you are preparing for one of your toughest opponents? Seems like it would be counterproductive to the guys who will play.

Though it depends on the portion of practice. It's an early practice, so they may be seeing where he's at and how he feels and get him some limited reps so that when he is able to come back he can. If he isn't a go on Saturday, his reps would decrease during the week. But they likely want to get a feel either way early in the week.

Agree with what you said about seeing where he's at, but they might want to combine that with him getting out there and learning the new plays.  It's one thing to watch new plays from the sidelines and study the playbook at home compared to actually being out there and executing your assignments.

I guarantee you he comes back wearing #87. Hoke said they won't announce what they will do with it when someone changes to a Legends number.

As a young man your goal should be to sample as much menu as you can, so you can learn what you really like and what's really best for you, or you'll end up with the wrong entree who'll end up costing you half your everything when it goes out the other side.  Just go out there and dabble my man.  As a loyal married husband, who is now just a hollow carcass of the feral hound I once was, with a tiny wife who carries my cojones around with her in a box after she ripped them out on our wedding night, I must now turn to you to carry the torch for all of mankind.  Make us proud.

I really like the number 88.  I'd like to see it have some staying power.

I wish they would have rolled out the legends stuff differently. Put a couple numbers up every couple years.  There'd be less number changes, and the numbers (and legend) would be better known and paid better homage.  Right now it feels like giving the numbers away is more of a chore than a celebration.

I'm definitely not against it.  I think 98 looks awesome on Gardner, but just feel it needs to be toned down.
