This kid may be the best athlete we have ever had. He will be great if he stays healthy. The only flaw I see is that he needs to wrap up when he tackles and quit throwing his shoulder. Wrap up and drive thru.
December 19th, 2013 at 2:13 PM ^
only flaw I see is he is too damn fast and not a good sport. He won't let those kids keep up with him.

He's good at tackle football

This blog is going to be so insufferable about his freshman year. Either he gets significant playing time and people complain about the coaches when he doesn't live up to impossible expectations, or he doesn't and people complain about the coaches for not playing a true freshman more.

Yep. There are no other possibilities.

It's more likely he'll be the first freshman Jim Thorpe award winner.

However, I do think he'll live up to the hype.

I know Peppers will be primarily on defense, but for as creative as a play designer as Borges supposedly is, he'd damn well better find some ways to get Peppers on the field for the offense.

I mean wen is the last person you have seen say he really is clearly too good to play in Highschool anymore, he would have had success at the college level this past year.
December 19th, 2013 at 1:57 PM ^
Yes this is who I thought of man could you imagine Clowney and Peppers on the same Highschool team.

How Jabrill is not the #1 player I don't know. I'd be saying that if he wasn't committed to Michigan too. I know Fournette is a monster, Cameron Robinson is probably a future NFL OT, and Hand is a rock with lightning quickness, but Jabrill is just flat out special. He would be the best player on the field at about 6 different positions. Hopefully the hype machine doesn't claim another victim because this kid will be great given time and opportunity.

It does seem like he is more of a game chaning type player that makes everyone better, rather than just the best player at his postion. His athletic ability is obvious, but I also get a strong sense of leadership ability and swagger that also makes me excited about his days in the winged helmet.

WOW!!! Some of those hits he delivered I actually felt sorry for those poor kids...not really..that dude brings the lumber when he hits someone. Can't wait for him to be in the Winged helmet.

There were definitely more I've seen. You can go to HUDL and watch every game highlights of his.

At 3:45 it looks like he's tackling an 8 year old.

I'm willing to bet a large amount of money that Borges calls jet sweep/jet sweep action on at least his first 3 career offensive snaps.
And I will scream on play #2 when the D blows it up.........but Jabrill still takes it to the house, making the entire team miss, a la the Denard 1 shoe run. Can't wait.

That was a "WOW" highlight reel - I would have to agree with others here. He's a superb athlete and the multipurpose aspect is definitely something that would give us an edge in situations on both sides of the ball potentially. I really like the idea of someone that fast and unafraid to hit in the secondary especially. His uncanny knack for being where the ball is should make for some pretty awesome INTs hopefully.

Thank you for that wonderful Christmas gift.

Dude is an effing beast!
Also, does anyone know why random plays in HUDL videos go completely blurry making it impossible to see anything?

Just a special athlete. I think he'll be returning punts and kick-offs with Norfleet. Also, for those wondering about Norfleet. Norfleet is a good player, but Peppers is elite. Yes, Norfleet was left out of the offense much of last season, but one thing about Norfleet is he is quick. He's quick but not fast. Norfleet has a good burst, but his top speed isn't that great. Where as, Peppers has elite size, speed, and burst.
So yes, you can say the offense didn't use Norfleet a lot last year, but that's not fair to Peppers. Norfleet is a good player, but not even an All-Big Ten level guy in my opinion. Where as, Peppers is clearly elite and should easily be All-Big Ten/All-American by his sophomore/junior year. Just two completely different guys.
Anyways, I expect to see Peppers utilized in a few different ways next year, but I'm sure you'll see him more and more as he gets older. Next year I expect punt returns, kick returns, and some defense. Maybe a few offensive plays here and there.

This is somewhat of the problem, but doesn't take away from the fact that he's just an average player in the Big Ten. Hence the reason he has yet to get a ton of playing time. To be honest, I don't see a lot of playing time in his future either. That's not to say he won't play some on offense, but with the receivers being brought in, his role won't be getting very big.

Can't wait to see Countess, Taylor and Peppers roaming the secondary next year.

He looks very impressive in his high school film. I hope his highlight tape from Michigan looks even better. It's a big jump from HS to B1G.
