Even if PSU would have won, I still think there would have been more interest in the UM-MSU game. Most people expect OSU to beat PSU - before and after the Illinois disaster.  But with UM-MSU, we have 2 undefeated teams with the winner emerging as the most serious challenger in the B1G to OSU.

I wonder how ESPN's going to handle MSU trying to end Aidan Hutchinson's playing career while the refs swallow their whistles.  Probably just ignore it and pretend it's a fair game?

Look, I realize I'm That Guy, but I absolutely hate playing STAEE.  Nebraska and Purdue are cheap, but Michigan State is in the same flaming garbage pile as Wisconsin, Indiana, and Minnesota.  It's not even about the rivalry to me anymore; they literally try to end players' careers and that shit is just so hard to watch, especially with the "anything goes" refs we've got these days.  It's an entirely different kind of butt-clenching.

A clean victory would be ideal but there's never anything clean about Little Brother.  I won't be happy, but I'll be happier if we escape this game with a loss and our roster intact than a victory that costs us several players.  I don't even mean key positions that'll hurt us down the road; it'll suck plenty enough to watch them yanking one of our backups by the facemask.  I like the sport of football, not the B1G giving impunity to unhinged violence.

It's weird when people let their personal feelings about a rivalry get the better of them, and they start honest-to-god believing that Regular People Whose Allegiance Is To a Different School are actually shitty, horrible people who are "literally trying to end players' careers."

Sir, get a grip on your runaway imagination, this is embarrassing. Literally nobody is trying to end anyone's career. Take deep breaths.

They are pretty blatant SEC and ABC/ESPN homers, but if they start dodging every single game that is covered by another network they will have zero credibility left.

This is not a tie-breaker situation, there is no other game to cover that is even close.

Noon game, students have to get to the stadium by 9 or 10am to get decent seats, fans at GameDay unable to drink (openly), maybe 20% Michigan fans in the crowd...

While I don't expect it to be a mild crowd since it's the biggest game for MSU in 5 or 6 years, this sets up for it to be about as sober of one as possible.

As will the folks from [redacted]sports.com. It's going to be crowded in EL and I'm excited to be there in person. Let's run it down their throat and take their will

Michigan-PSU will have lost a lot of its luster by then.  I doubt Penn State will be ranked after losing their third straight this weekend.  I think Gameday is more likely to hit Oklahoma @ Baylor. Both teams are ranked and it's a good shot at an upset.  Plus they have already hit Happy Valley this year.

If things go badly for us this weekend, Gameday might also prefer to go to Columbus for MSU-OSU and then a non-OSU game the following week (The Iron Bowl and Bedlam seem like the most likely other picks), although Ann Arbor still seems like the best choice.

This was the only logical choice after Penn State vomited all over itself on Saturday.

Florida-Georgia does not have the same appeal it did this time a month ago now that Florida has lost three times. The only other ranked matchup that day is Ole Miss - Auburn and that game has no real national stakes involved. Their only other option would’ve been if there was a big FCS rivalry game or some top-5 matchup.

I’m sure Desmond will be greeted with tender loving care.

Weird, could have swore I heard that Gameday was going to Jacksonville for Florida-Georgia. I mean, this makes more sense, since they've already been to Georgia twice (I'm still shocked they were in Athens twice in three weeks), and are pretty much a lock to do the Georgia-Bama SEC Championship Game. But thought I saw otherwise...

My dad is old school and hasn't gotten into podcasts or anything else (he was forced to get a smart phone finally when ATT shut off all pre-3g phones), so he listens to local sports talk radio exclusively.

He stated that the one Sparty Slappy on 97.1 said last week that Panasiuk is "as good of a college player as Hutchinson, and better than Rashan Gary ever was"
