It's about the way you win.

I have been outspoken about having zero expectations this game in a season that has already exceeded them. The fact there will be zero focus or attention on the WAY that State won this game is a disappointment to the sport. I'd love for the comments to include the number of personal fouls and taunting carried out by a team who for all intents should have expected to win should be an embarrassment to their base. Instead it will be a Wallpaper.

I didn't mind losing. I minded losing to a team who carried itself this way while no one cared.

They don't care at all. Not one of them is embarrased of ashamed. All that matters is the W. I have no doubt that Dantonio won't even consider punishing Gholston. It may come down from the league, but not Thugtonio.

My favorite part was how right after that, the ESPN guys said Dantonio was a coach of "clean, hard-hitting football." I said immediately afterwards, "Gholston will be in on the next play, no question, and then we'll see how clean of a coach he is."

Gholston could have shot someone at halftime and he would be put back in. He might get a suspension, even from Dantonio, because their most important game is over. If it happened last week, you bet your ass he wouldn't be suspended until next week at least. Fucking disgraceful.

In reality though, it shouldn't be up to Dantonio. They should adopt USA Hockey rules: if a player is injured on a penalty, it's an automatic ejection, no questions asked. What's the point in a fifteen yard penalty if 44 could come out on the first drive and make a blatantly dirty hit to try and decapitate Denard? That affects the outcome of the game much more significantly than fifteen yards does, so it's a smart play. That shouldn't be the case.

MSU fans won't care either, they'll see it as "LOLOLZ WE WON 4 YEARS IN A ROW LOLOL YOU SUCK"

We sucked today but their dirtiness is leaving an awful bad taste in my mouth.

MSU played dirty, but at least they played liked they wanted to win. They had a few dirty plays, but they kicked our asses regardless. Michigan played like a scared team. The playcalling was godawful, and they didn't seem prepared at all. Although MSU is a dirty team, we knew that going in. This game was just a total disappointment. Hoke and Borges were awful.

I don't know, the effort was there. We played hard. It was frustrating to spend so much time on their half of the field and get TOs and not capitilize on it. I don't think it had anything to do with effort or lack of will to win the game. Borges didn't particularly adjust well to the blitzes, but some of that is on personal for not picking it up, Denard for not reading it and getting the ball to open recievers. And, give their defense credit. They beat us at the point of attack, on both sides of the ball for that matter. We got beat by a better team, plain and simple.

I could not possibly disagree with you more.

The way this Michigan team responded to the adversity and the digusting thuggery was amazing.

I am more impressed with the coaches and the players than I have been at any point in the season.

Honestly, I have no idea what you're talking about with the playing scared nonesense. Those guys hung in there and kept their heads up while MSU cheap shotted them repeatedly. I didn't see nobody scared.

I would rather lose with these guys than win with Dantonio and his band of thugs one thousand times over.

I don't know if they were awful, but, the 4th and inches call was not good. First big mistake that I've seen from Borges all year. Too bad, that would've been interesting to have them pick up that 1st down and then tie the game. Additionally, felt like that game was over-coached. I hate this cliche, but, Denard never seemed to get into a "rhythm."

Overall, that game was uber-annoying. Everything from the uniforms, to the play on the field, to the final score. Looked like Delaware vs. S. Florida out there.

Ick. I'm going to go shower now and wash the stank of that off me.

I'm just disappointed with the way we failed to capitalize on the juvenille play by MSU. Wasted opportunities lost this game. Two turnovers in MSU territory and we get no points. Numerous drives into MSU territory. We lost to a pretty mediocre team today and that is what hurts. I'm not calling us great but they aren't either.

Plain and simple. Yes Gholston (sp?) acted like a thug, but that doesn't matter to the computers.

Regroup and get back at it in 2 weeks, the BIGGEST rivalry game still lies ahead.

That game fulfilled a lot of stereotypes about MSU. Gholston had better be suspended for next week. I don't understand why he wasn't ejected after his second personal foul.

Dantonio sat him one play. Punishment served. Of course the first play back he nearly horse collared Denard

It certainly felt like every bit of good luck we had all season was paid back today. Call it karma. The only thing I really felt would have changed the play was the no call on MSUs fumbled backwards pass. The rest werebad but probably not game changing

pS my Spartan friends and family think Gholston should've been ejected and they are embarrassed. Not all sparties are irrational.

I wish they would have reviewed the spot on the 3rd and 11 catch right before the ill-fated 4th and inches. Looking live, I thought he was right at the marker. But at the same time, our offense has to be able to get that yard on the next play.

on that whole kicking UM's ass year in and year out thing. You realize nationally no one could give a shit about MSU, regardless of what they have done against UM the last 4 years. But, I suppose MSU is going to continue beating UM with all those great players they are bringing in. Oh wait that is right, UM is kicking MSU's ass in the Midwest and nationally again, in terms of recruiting. MSU fans are foolish if they think MSU will continue to beat UM when they have inferior talent.

Oh and you can talk shit all you want, it still doesn't change the fact that MSU behaved like thugs(not shocking) today.

Yeah, ok. I'm proud of them for that. But I'm like a million more times less proud of them for going 0-4 against State. So, I would say overall it's a huge disappointment. Especially the senior class and the coaches.

It's not really a consolation that they were the nice guys that got their asses kicked. Just embarrassing.
