so obvious....

Just looks so dejected talking about the offense and thinking about the game.

Then when the defense gets brought up, a glimmer of enthusiasm.

He won't say it, but you know this offense is killing him inside.

Hope they figure it out, this season, or this off-season.

It's fluff...it ain't that bad. In fact, it's one of the better episodes because it has a lot of player commentary.

Also everyone (including me) has been so miserable - it's a nice reminder that we won the game and we did have a few positive plays.

With all the doom and gloom, people have forgotten the possibilities.  If chalk holds up in the B1G and we win out, we'll have three top-5 wins, plus a top-10 win against a one-loss Wisconsin team in Indianapolis.  Throw in a neutral site win vs. Florida (SEC).  No team will have that type of resume.  It also means we're not just in the CFP, but likely a 2/3 seed, avoiding Alabama.

With our defense, I think this scenario is still possible.

Not only is Michigan a part of the best division in all of college football, 3 of its remaining 6 games are against the 3 best in conference...which happen to be 3 of the top 6 teams in the country (currently)

You can count on Michigan being underdogs in all 3 of those games. If a miracle happens and we win out, we are a lock for a playoff spot at #2 in the country. There is no doubt there.

But let's be real. The offense is putrid and predictable. Our offensive line is weak. Our WR's SUCK JUNGLENUTZ. Crawford can't catch. McDoom can't high-point a ball. People's has a lot of upside but he needs a solid off-season to become elite. Our RB's can't pass protect. 6 fumbles and 6 INTS through the first 6 games of the season. Multiple penalties.

When is everyone going to wake up and realize that our offense isn't fixable. We are prone to mistakes. Is it age or is it coaching? How did we regress at the QB position?

The hardest part of all of this is that our defense is elite. They are just as young as our offense and they are statistically one of the top defenses in the country. What's the offenses excuse?

If we lose against PSU, I won't be surprised. Our defense is about to go up against one of the best offenses in the country, with OSU right around the corner. If we go 0-3 against PSU, Whisky and OSU...I'll be extremely disappointed with Harbaugh and co. I'll be happy going 1-2, ecstatic 2-1.

Our defense, although as young as the offense has a lot of experienced players and we actually have the talent needed for every position on that side of the ball. Yes, we could be better in a few areas, and that makes it even more impressive.  However, if you just have one position on the offensive side of the ball where on almost every play 11 people have to do their jobs to have success, you are going to have a lot of breakdowns. If the defense sputters on one play and gives up a first down, they can buckle back up and get out of the next series. Same cannot be said with the young offense. Imagine our D coming after Okorn or a third and 15. There you go. furthermore, don't say our players suck junglenutz. it is is bad taste and it is your duty as a fan - you don't have to give false praise - to stick by them when things are bad. Just refer to Fielding's quote about the street urchin. That is the outfit you wear when you speak in this manner.

Everyone go watch the play at 3:40. Also as I pointed out before and others have seen now there were 5 routine passes dropped in this game. With those O'Korn looks a lot better.

Yep that is why it is so annoying when people say he is the worst.  I probably watch more football on the weekend than almost all people on this bored. Its not a brag, it is probally a problem, really. lol And almost all qbs have a few bad to really bad throws a game. However, what really sticks out is pretty much every power five team with a winning record dont have the drops on pretty routine type catches. Moreover, their wr bail out the qb on throws that o'korn gets slammed for by a big portion of this fan base.

It is bad enough that sometimes i dont like watching other games because i always find myself thinking "man, i wish michigans wr would make that catch." or "no way that is completed in our game."  A few weeks ago barkley bail ok Mcsorley by cathing a pass that was high and a good bit behind him while running a swing. He had to jump, do a half spin thing, and pretty much fully extend to make a one handed grab. He the juked Scales right after he landed and took it for 40 on third down.

Michigan is just not getting play like that from the pass catchers. In fact, they rarely make plays that are not close to as difficult. The group is still young and im still holding out hope that it will click for them and they will make contested/tough catches. Until then, any QB would look middling at best.

I think the frustration is with the reads (or lack thereof) and generally poor decision making. Even his best throw, to peoples-jones in triple coverage after avoiding a sack, could be chalked up as a poor decision.

That said, the inexperience at receiver is evident. It was nice to see Donovan get more looks and McDoom should be limited to end-arounds.

On the bright side, you can always close your eyes and think what it will look like in a couple years – People-Jones, Black, Collins and Martin!

Oh, I completely get the frustration with him not going throw his progression. It is actually almost impressive how steadfast he is with refusing to go to his second read lol.
I can understand the take on the DPJ play. However, he had 3 options sack, throw away or try and hit DPJ. Being that doing gunslinger stuff outside the pocket while avoiding sacks is what he is good at. Interestingly enough, I don't think DPJ was his first read there.
I guess my point is, some people seem to think he is playing at a historically low level for a Michigan QB, or even for a power five QB. His play is not were it needs to be. But if he get typical wr play seen by every winning team in the country, he looks much better.

Why are we not running any read option or designed QB runs with O'Korn.  This multiple TE offense feels like square peg/round hole.

I thought that with the bye week for MSU, we would've implemented that type of package to keep defenses guessing.  It seems like that could unclog the middle of the field because LBs would have to respect both running threats in the backfield.  And maybe it could make the jet sweeps with McDoom less predictable.  Just my $0.02.

the Dline is tired.

Given the last game and this game. I am very worried the PSU game. If our offense don't produce, i doube our D-line can hold up long enough given the past two battles. they need rest. I am not surprised, harbaugh will try to control the time procession as much as he can gameplan for.

Has to be able to sustain some drives not go 3 and out other wise defense will be on field whole game. Need be able get a defensive td or special teams and have Penn st make a couple mistakes and I think M will have a good chance. But M seems be on the opposite side of that this year so I won’t get my hopes up for this game, but I hate Franklin as much as Dantonio, guy is a cocky dick who luckily fell into a big ten championship

I think the intention was to put them in for one or two plays but Indiana recognized this and went tempo so that we could not substitute. The only way to get the backups off the field at that point was to call timeout. In hindsight, that probably would have been saved a TD.

They were trying to spot the Dline a little extra time after Half. Also, it was warm and IU was running a fast offense.  PSU won't run the fast spread and weather will be much cooler.  The D has not been on field that much most games.  A lot of 3 and outs.

Yeesh. Pump the brakes a little. I like Dierdorf and Brandstatter, but they're both sidekicks not play by play guys. I also like that Dierdorf isn't afraid to tell it like it is. I just wish we could get Dan Dickerson for play by play.
