That's why Alabama, Georgia, and the like get respect. Great programs that understand how college football works. Teams in our own conference(looking at you OSU and MSU) would never show that kind of mutual respect.

So, I watched damn near ALL of the player Rose Bowl press conferences and Booker had one.  The guy has a winning personality, so this doesn't surprise me any.  In fact, save for Bond who came off extremely cocky in his session, all the players from both sides were a breath of fresh air.  Great kids all around.  That's due in part to the mentorship of both Harbaugh and Saban.

Yeah, Alabama does a great job with their young athletes; credit to the staff not the institution because just look at the debacle of their basketball program leadership.

Also, it’s hard to hate these Michigan players. How can you as an athlete not respect someone like Mikey, or Barrett, or Corum?

I know no one likes Alabama, but I have recently really enjoyed hearing Saban talk about leadership. His postgame conference was just class. He didn’t say the Brady Hoke “we didn’t execute,” which I always despised.

Saban said he was proud of the team, that he took responsibility and, for the Alabama fans, said several times how disappointed his players were losing.

I never really liked the guy be he does things right.

Over the years I have ran into a few real Bama fans and they have always been respectful and really good college football fans. As much as I don’t like the SEC love fest, they truly are better fans than the msu, osu variety.

Kudos.

But you know what's really disappointing? That today, common sportsmanship is so rare that it's labeled as "incredible". Glad to see that some mothers raised their sons right

I'm not 100% sure it's rare it's just not the topic to bring up to get clicks.  Now, I've a 4 year old and will surely be getting into sports in the coming years.  I'll report back in a few and say whether or not I'm a naive idiot who hates people even moreso or if there still is plenty of "good" in the world but isn't in the limelight because bad and edgy is better content.

I have to imagine between IMG teammates and common opponents, JJ knows.a sizeable chunk of every SEC team. Great sportsmanship by both teams.

Have always thought of Alabama program as a class act, have had great interactions with their fans and their players don't ever seem douchebaggy, on the whole.

Saban is Saban, but core Alabama fans and the program get pretty high marks from me.

Are there douchebags? Of course any program with their recent history of dominance will have them, but I view them as sort of that obnoxious part of the OSU fan base that just exists, though a good portion of their fan base are actually also somewhat reasonable.

Alabama's sophomore guard Tyler Booker played with J. J. McCarthy and Greg Crippen on the IMG Academy football team in 2020. Booker was a junior when McCarthy and Crippen were seniors. LINK Booker was a first team All-SEC offensive lineman this season.

I wasn’t too thrilled to see many of our guys run to the Bama sideline after the game and do the dumb ass wave goodbye shit. We just won the Rose Bowl, celebrate with your team over taunting.
