If you sat in Sections 1-24 or 33-44 yesterday...

YOU ROCK! THANK YOU!!!

The Big House was a fantastic atmosphere yesterday all around, but the one thing that I especially noticed was seemingly all of the nonstudents were standing and yelling on every Northwestern third down.

Many students were remarking on this throughout the game; I know that people typically say the stadium feeds off of the student section, but we rely on YOU just as much! It's awesome to see the stadium rise around you!

Keep it up next week and let's make life as tough as possible for that Sparty offense!!!

GO BLUE, BEAT STATE!!!

Will be in section 32 row 77 for Sparty game. Wasn't there yesterday but got chills with how the stadium was rockin with Defense chant. No one should have a voice left after this weeks game - let's give it all because the team will!

right below where Cazzie Russell stuck his head out. Yes even some of the older fans were up and cheering. It was crazy fun. Next week will be something. Go Blue!

next to a lovely couple there for the wife's 50th-year reunion (the husband's was 4 years before), and though they weren't yelling and screaming, they stood every time the rest of us did without complaint, even when the knees weren't making it easy.  (I suspect that may be why they left at half-time.  Happily sated but needing PT.)  The husband had been to the Maryland game last week (lives in that area), and wasn't quite convinced the team was quite there yet.  That opening TD return brought a huge smile on his face.  Which stayed.

I think the old crowds - aside from changes in stadium design - suffered from some apathy.  Just like when the Pistons were in the late stages of the Billups era and just like red wings fans can get (wait until April when the real season begins).  When you are just damn good year after year for 4 decades it is normal.

Now that we've been in a drought you appreciate this way more - just like if the Lions (hhahhahahhahahahah) ever hosted a 2nd playoff game (I was there in 91) or you know - won a NFC championship (hahahhahhaha).

One piece of bad news guyz - once we win 3 NCs in the next 7 years I expect crowds to be relatively quiet for the NW game in 2023 as apathy returns a bit.  #FirstWorldProblems

The funny part about the de-dense chant at the end of the game is that half of the student section was chanting "WE WANT STATE" at the time. Can't imagine how loud it could've been if everyone was in sync. At least I can't imagine what that's like until next Saturday.

I'm pretty sure that DE-FENSE chant at the end originated from somewhere other than the student section. I was in the student section and it sounded like it started on the other side of the stadium.

Also, my eyes definitely got a little misty during it.

At the time, it felt more like an ode to the last three games than an urging to close out the third shutout in a row. Cause at that point a shutout was all but guarnanteed.

Still hoarse from yesterday. The DE-FENSE chant definitely came fromt the south part of the stadium. I've been attending games for a very long time, and this was the loudest, most animated crowd I've seen in a long time.

I was in section 43. A die hard NW fan behind me complained all game and I loved every second of it. He also brought up the crowd noise and the advantage he felt it gave us. Go blue, on to the next.

We're section 6 and we were happily standing for most of the game. Yesterday's atmosphere was fantastic! We also loved that so many fans stayed till the last play. We always stay, no matter what, but it looks like even those who don't are interested in the shut-outs. :)

I've never seen the boys run over to the student section so fast after a blowout! The team has worked their asses off, everyone knows it, and they have earned a great atmosphere. The de-dense chant was unreal! I have never heard that at a Michigan game before. Great EUTM by crowd and team. Let's see if we can get even louder against Sparty!

When I got to my seats, I was worried people around me were going to tell me to sit down. To my surprise, they were into it the whole time. Awesome game

She said they could feel the crowd all day long like never before. She's not new, worked there for some time now. I can only imagine how it effects both teams, I say thank you to every sore-throated one of you that was there yesterday

I was in section 1. My normal seats are in 17. The people around me were pretty good. Got s few grumbles when we stood up and yelled for third downs. On nw's last play an old lady tugged on my shirt and told me to sit down. I said "ma'am, if 3 straight shutouts can't get you to stand up, nothing will."

I'm gonna parrot a lot of others and mention the De-fense chant at the end. The stadium was absolutely rocking there. The loudest I may have ever experienced in person.

It was as loud if not louder the the 2009 game I went to that Tate brought us back form behind in the 4th Quarter to win. I'm excited to go to the next week game against Sparty! I'm assuming it's gonna be nuts!!

The crowd was super into it yesterday. Definitely one of the best crowds I've had the pleasure of being a part of since UTL. It was also the first time I've seen the wave actually get through all four phases in a long time.

A friend of mine who lives pretty far from the stadium way down Packard said she could hear the cheering and she hasn't before.

This crowd was probably the most consistently loud throughout that I've heard in a long time, and reminded me of how opposing QB's had a hard time hearing during big games in the early 90's.

On one play in the second half, I'm pretty sure Thorson was trying to get a play off quicker but couldn't because his center couldn't hear him, and I'm sure it happened more than the time I noticed. If our crowd can stay that loud throughout the game, I can only imagine how much harder that makes it for the opposing team. Go Blue!
