If you could assign 8 wins and 4 losses to Michigan's regular season ... which 4 would be losses?

Problem is that if you pick all the big games as wins, you have to lose to the weaker opponents ... how would you spread it around so we wouldn't lose to UMass?

Penn State has been getting too uppity while we've been rebuiling. They seem to forget that we beat the "super team" they've had the past two years in 2007 with a freshman QB, three weeks after loosing the Horror.

Then there is all this smack talk about Michigan not mattering anymore in the conference divisions discussion.

I'd rather give Indiana a ray of light, and beat Penn State handily in Happy Valley. I'd really rather beat both.

Losing to Indiana this year isn't so bad because it's an early game. I'd rather beat Penn St on the road than Iowa or Wisconsin. You beat a higher ranked team on the road, people pay attention. We'll probably be slight underdogs at home to Iowa and WIsconsin, so losing will be no big deal as long as we don't get blown out, whereas winning won't raise any eyebrows.

U-Conn would suck, but it would pretty much be forgotten after beating ND.  Indiana is due, and really went toe to toe last year.  Would look ugly early on, but...  And Iowa and Indiana would be respectable, without building a lot of hate.  Don't want to lose to any of the biggies, or really small fry. And Purdue and Illinois must go down.

I know we're highly unlikely to go undefeated, supposed to win about 8 games, but who cares? I don't think about losing games. Think about winning them all. But If we go to a decent bowl and beat all our rivals I would be happy I guess

But this is the hypothetical thread where I get to pick which 4 games we lose. If we make a bowl game and lose, it's going to suck but I'm not really going to piss and moan about it after the past 2 years. Keep in mind this is a thread where people are going to pick losing to BGSU in order to beat OSU, which isn't very realistic.

am I assigning losses to Purdue or MSU.  Four "good" losses are Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Penn State.  Two are on the road and two are at home against top B10 competition.  At Penn State at night is a tough place to win for any team.  Indiana should be a decent team this year and they are looking to avenge last year's close loss.  Iowa and Wisconsin will be good and we are not expected to beat them this season.

Woohoo, this means we beat OSU!

We still get wins over u conn, wisconsin, ohio state, michigan state, and penn state! Thats 4 major wins plus revenge over both rivals and thats definitely a bowl. I can live with that, in fact thats a best case scenario for me!!!

I could tolerate losing to Conn (early in the season and OOC) Iowa, Penn State, Wisconsin (three good conference teams)

I cannot tolerate losing to Notre Dame (shut up, Kelly), Mich State (little brother) or Ohio State (no explanation necessary).

By the way, the SEC and the Big Ten have three bowl tie-ins now...Capital One, Outback, and the Gator Bowl. If UM goes 8-4 a bid to the Gator Bowl is a very likely scenario.

I would love to see Mich go to the Gator Bowl and beat the hell out of the Auburn Tigers.

the following teams beating us: ND, PSU, WI, and OSU!  My  break down is as follow.

Winnable games: UMASS, Bowling Green and IL  (all at home)

Close games we could win: UCONN, ND, Indiana, MSU, Iowa, Purdue and Wisconsin.

Games we may lose: PSU and OSU.

The upside would be to win all the close games and  finish 10-2.

More realistically we will win 4 of the close games and finish 7-5.

Worse case senior would be only to win 2 of the close games and finish 5-7.

I'm still banking on a 7-5 or 8-4 season!!!! Go Blue!!!!

I am very influenced by my dad. As a little kid I was taught to hate Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Minnesota. Since we dont play Minnesota this year, I just want to beat the hell out of the other four teams.

lose the first four, come roaring back and win the last 8. Now THAT, would truly be a story book season--and isn't that what we are looking for as fans?

seriously, then destroy some punk in a bowl game.  be smokin cigars talking trash. 5* recruits sending us CA$H to play here, 10k moar seats in the Big House with digital scoreboards.  OK, went a little overboard there.  But, yeah.
