I was scrolling through pictures of Duncan Robinson and found this...

From High school to the NBA this guys form is the exact same. Look at his hand on the right side of each picture... identical.

apparently he was doing precious little of that last night.  i didn't watch the game but the box score shows he played 27 minutes but was 0-3 shooting.  what gives?

It may be a tough series for Duncan. So much of his action is working to find space off screens and the Lakers run HUGE lineups out there (LeBron, Davis, and McGee/Howard out there together regularly) to hedge hard on screens. On the other end, the Lakers work very hard to get LeBron in ideal matchups on screens. Duncan can't guard him in one on one in the halfcourt (few can) and he definitely can't guard him if he gets stuck on LeBron in transition after a stop. It's just a tough ask for Duncan, unfortunately.

He was very clearly a focal point for the Lakers on defense.  That's *supposed* to open up more space for teammates to attack as the floor is spaced and is one of the key benefits to having an elite shooter that doesn't show up in the box score.

Hoping the Heat can get back on track in Game 2.

Among some of the things that others have mentioned, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope did a really good job sticking with Duncan off the ball when those two were matched up (the Lakers played Danny Green on him a bit as well, who is also a solid defender).

Lakers did a great hop following and tracking Herro and Duncan to not give them anything on the perimeter. They forced Miami into twos outside the paint on which they were only 6/20 in the first half. One the defensive side, LeBron was hunting him on switches and Miami didn't really have a good game plan to get Duncan help defense or a double

Is this a ... good thing? I mean, I sort of assume that college & NBA coaching will change (read: improve) your shooting form. Feels impossible to believe that Duncan had perfect form in HS.

I think a lot of shooters will have the same off hand position over time (the hand you are pointing out). It looks to me his release point is much higher - although it's tough to say that for sure since the pictures are taken at different points in his shot. Easy to assume he had to adjust his release point due to the taller defenders in division 1 and then NBA.

This reminds me of when I was coming up in hoops as a kid, I used to keep a picture of Steve Alford shooting a three in my wallet.  Dude had prefect form.

I think it's over for sure if it's true that Dragic tore a tendon in his foot.... that could take months to heal.... plus Bam might be less then 100% with his shoulder

I think the Lakers were going to win anyway... I was definitely rooting for Heat

But Dragic is huge for that team, without him I see a sweep

The Lakers are one of the best defensive teams we've seen in a while, Lebron is  a cry baby, but he really is an all time great and an all around great player (scoring, passing, defense).

Lakers have 4 hall of famers, the obvious 3, plus this championship puts Rondo over the top
