I'm still holding out hope Nico comes back.

Now hear me out. He is the only player to opt out that didn't release a statement, and he still hasn't released a statement. And we have this nugget from Mike Sainristil: “I had texted him once,” Sainristil said. “I asked him if the rule of opting back in changes anything for him. He was still unsure. The silence from Nico is deafening. I have a feeling we will see #1 in 2 weeks.

I'm still holding out hope that Kate Upton leaves Justin Verlander for me and that my wife will be totally okay with adding her to our relationship.

Your hopes are probably more likely, but I'm not holding my breath for either of us.

Fingers crossed Antonio Cromartie commits. I know people are like "hey man, he committed to Florida State like 17 years ago" but I think we can pull this thing out.  Call me optimistic, but I'm tying a maize ribbon around this oak tree.

He’s still on the official MGoBlue.com roster along with McCaffrey. Ambry Thomas was removed. I think we see some McCaffrey to Collins touchdown passes on October 24. They’re getting ready at a secret practice facility on North Campus. Jedd Fisch is coaching them remotely via Zoom.

I’m not one to normally advocate hopelessness, but in respect to sports, it’s a very positive thing. Expecting the worst-case scenario in entertainment events you have no control over both minimizes the impact of bad news and losses and increases the satisfaction of good news and wins. That 5-star recruit can’t disappoint you when he ends up sitting on the bench when you didn’t expect him to live up to his ranking. I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir of Lions fans on the blog. Learn to live in the comfortable numbness of the void, guys.

No way, He gone!

As much as I would like to have him back, why would he be so silent about it?

If he comes back I'll certainly be happy but you have to think of the guys behind him working their asses off for playing time. If I'm Cornelius Johnson or whoever they have working to earn that starting spot and this guy is just going to walk back on the team and reclaim his starting position? That's exactly the kinda stuff that will make a guy transfer. Either way I just want Michigan football to start! Hurry up Oct. 24th!

This whole situation is just annoying. Nico should’ve flat out said he’s leaving considering in January he announced he was staying. Now you have some players like Sainristil that are still maybe wondering if he’s coming back, doesn’t have a definite answer. He’s obviously gone, but confirmation would be nice and it’s kinda selfish at this point to his teammates
