Just saw this tweet from Evander Holyfield.  His son, Elijah Holyfield, is a 2016 RB from Georgia.  Here are his highlights from Hudl.

According to Elijah's Twitter account, it appears Boston College offered him today, it is his first offer.  Early indications are he is a very strong lean to Georgia if offered.

I thought that too but he probably just copied and pasted the link to his twitter and the title of the article comes up on your twitter as the "tweet" and then has the link you can click in to take you to the article so in essence no

I went to the same high school. Played with his brother Ewin.
Gary Downs is now the head coach, and was the running backs when I was there. He played with our very own Tyrone Wheatley. I fondly remember him saying that Tyrone was just a track star with a monster line.

Did anyone see "Being Mike Tyson" on Fox Sports yesterday?  If not, try to catch it as the whole episode is Tyson and Holyfield hanging out and talking about their previous fights.  Very funny.  Also, they go watch one of Holyfield's sons box and he clearly has talent.  I would think that anyone of his children have serious talent, however, he wouldn't come here if offred by Georgia.

Elijah Holyfield's stats are Ht: 5-11 Wt: 189 40: 4.65

Compare that to:

Derrick Green Ht: 5-11 Wt: 220 40: 4.4

DeVeon Smith Ht: 5-11 Wt: 220 40: 4.5

Damian Harris Ht: 5-11 Wt: 189 40: 4.44

Holyfield would be the combination of the smallest, slowest RB since Hoke became head coach.  Do you really think that he rates an offer?

and there's always a but, some runners are simply great without possessing great speed. Even at 4.65,you have to remember he will probably be faster than the first seven guys he has to go through, and also depending on other variables, he could be considered for other positions.  I can think of two of the best Big Ten RBs in the recent past that probably were about the same speed. Once happened to be our all-time leading ground gainer by time he left. Another is Maurice Clarett.  Whereas Mike was just a slower version of Barry Sanders, albeit a bit slower, Maurice was great because he possessed a tremendous knack for setting up his blockers and making the correct cut at precisely the right time.  Our coaches have been around h.s. kids for years and they know if a kid is deserving or not. Believe me, they won't waste an offer on a kid they don't believe is going to help us to our ultimate goal and that is putting up Ws on Saturday afternoons.
