Hey, Brandin. I was curious what the job search process is like for football players once they graduate. Does your name recognition help at all? Does the school or alumni club provide any assistance tailored for athletes?

I also want to add it's awesome that everyone uses the generic, secret-agent sounding MrSmith account.

Brandon, welcome to the MGoCommunity.  It is awesome to have you, V. Smith and Tay on this board.

Some questions for you:

1.  An MgoBlog related question - do the players know of its existence and if so, how many regularly check in.

2.  What areas do you think that this team will struggle in this season, and which areas will be strengths?

3.  You have been through the coaching change.  Let's put aside the whole "who is a better coach" debate. I would instead by interested in your thoughts on the differences between how RR and Hoke run the team?  We know that Hoke is obviously very into the whole tradition of Michigan, and emphasizes it regularly during team meetings.  There is a perception that the prior staff did not embrace the tradition as much.  What's the real scoop on that?  (Again, not asking for comments on who is a better coach, etc.  Just curious on an inside view of this debated issue).

1. As a player i didnt know about it really dont get to involved into personal opinions while playing the sport so dont read blogs and i know my teammates are the same way as well.

2.losing jake as well as william campbell is a huge lost so i would have to go with upfront on the D-line but knowing that coach matt is coaching them they will be great  with Taylor coming back and a few vets on theO-line the Oline would be strong

3. Hoke staff just being more on the coaching and teaching the players and with Coach Rod staff it was hard to relate at times and this tridation we speak of im curious to know what it is yeah there were so new things that we did differently with the new staff but for the most part it was pretty much the same in that aspect

You are using this (drastically overused) metaphor.  I do not think it means what you think it means.

Guy above is saying you sound like an old guy trying to sound like one of the cool kids.  He's not complaining about how the cool kids talk.  Not every damn thing that involves a) complaining; or b) old guys has to be met with 'get off my lawn.'

You goddamn kids.

Welcome!  Man, are you in for a lot of questions.  Most of them will center around what it's like to be you.  It is soooo good to have former players (maybe some current ones too?) on the board.  This is the best site for Michigan football discussion out there by far.

I just went all 8 year old girl giddy and said to my wife," Brandin Hawthorne just said thanks to me using Vincent Smith's account on MGOBLOG!!"  She just rolled her eyes.  Obviously she doesn't understand the importance of this momentous occasion.  Heh.

In your opinion, which current player (besides Taylor Lewan and Devin Gardner) has the best shot at being a first-round draft pick?

Which underclassmen should we look out for to have a breakout season?

Did you or any of your friends/teammates ever go up to North Campus during your time at U-M?

I'm only asking because I was a sport management major who lived on NC 3 out of 4 years and everyone in sport management looked at me funny when I said I lived on NC lol.

Hey Brandin,

Thanks for taking the time to answer questions.

How did training differ with Coach Barwis vs. Coach Wellman?

Were there any exercises you stopped doing after Coach Wellman started?

Any new exercises you started?

Any nutritionional/diet differences?

i love going to the weightroom and grinding so i liked both coaches

Barwis was more of a Olympic style workouts working fast twitch muscles  that got you strong as heck but we didnt gain weight

Wellman more of the developing program gains weight, flexion, strength and mental toughtness

What are #eatin' short-term and long-term goals with connecting Pahokee and the Michigan community?

What type of charitable events or activities does #eatin' have planned for the future?

How can mgoblog and it's community of users continue to help #eatin' reach their goals?

1) thoughts on ND chickening out of the series?
2) thoughts on narrowly missing out on the opportunity to play such *power* programs as Rutgers and Maryland?
3) favorite bar in Ann Arbor?
