Harbaugh Tells (Old) Great Story About Speight and O'Korn Trying to Secretly Gain Upper Hand

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

College Sports Nation from Sirius XM has been at Michigan today, and the interviews have been GREAT. Harbaugh just told a story about how WIlton Speight and John O'Korn have been trying to secretly gain the upper hand this summer.

Harbaugh said that each of them were calling the receivers and running backs for throwing sessions this summer, and they didn't want the other guy to find out about it. The plan blew up when Speight called one of the receivers who is O'Korn's roommate. O'Korn found out about it and showed up at Speight's "secret" throwing session.

"I loved it," Harbaugh said. I love it, too.

And anyone who thinks Harbaugh is bad with the media needed to be listening to that interview. He was engaging, forthcoming, funny and sounded like he wanted to be there.

(EDIT: My apologies. He has apparently told this same story a billion times this summer and I've missed it. So it's a great story but not a new story.)

Odd that Shane wasn't doing something similar, if you're looking for playing time it seems as if you may want to be throwing with or without the guys you're competing against.

They were on their mission and asked me if i was interested in seeing the light. I said i did not understand what they were talking about. They told me this fantastic story about a storied coach from Michigan who had these two qb's competing for a starting job. Greatest sorry i ever heard.
