Damn. Good luck to him.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:20 PM ^
everything turns out all right.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:21 PM ^
Hay, I was waiting for good news!
February 21st, 2017 at 9:54 PM ^
I suspect this is the officially official "Asiasi is leaving thread". This news has been lingering for a while.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:22 PM ^
I think Steve Wiltfong and I have different definitions of "good news".
Good luck to you Devin.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:22 PM ^
I hope it works out well for Devin and his family. Big loss for Michigan.
February 22nd, 2017 at 6:32 AM ^
Good luck to you kid. I hope everything works out and you find what you want. It was a blast having you here and watching you play.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:23 PM ^
Luckily we have 13 scholarship Tight Ends on the roster so there is that....
February 21st, 2017 at 9:34 PM ^
Recruiting giveth, and recruiting taketh away.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:25 PM ^
Bunting and Wheatley will have monster years.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:26 PM ^
Good luck Devin, great player and hope he does well wherever he lands.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:27 PM ^
Silver lining is that we are only 1 spot over the limit and are close to being able to add a grad transfer OL.
February 21st, 2017 at 10:18 PM ^
We're 2 over the limit (LINK).
February 21st, 2017 at 9:29 PM ^
I hope weather was not a major factor in this decision. I know family issues have been mentioned which would make me think he ends up at Cal since USC/UCLA are are over 6 hours from his home.
February 21st, 2017 at 10:01 PM ^
Especially since this has been a pretty mild winter in Ann Arbor - so far! Best of luck Devin.
February 22nd, 2017 at 7:37 AM ^
This was not a mild winter. It got cold much earlier than usual. Now it seems to be getting warmer much earlier than usual.
I remember hearing Devin say in an interview when asked by a reporter in the locker room if he had ever been in cold weather, he said no and he said he was scared. After hearing that comment on WTKA, I wondered how this was going to play out especially once the Iowa and Indiana games were played in below freezing weather.
February 22nd, 2017 at 9:25 AM ^
I will never understand this line of thinking, especially when the Pac 12 may play November games in Pullman, Salt Lake City, and Boulder.
February 22nd, 2017 at 9:39 AM ^
Ann Arbor average temps:
Nov 2016 - 55.6 (normal avg is 48)
Dec 2016 - 32.3 (normal avg is 35)
Jan 2017 - 36.2 (normal avg is 31)
Feb 2017 - 43.7 (normal avg for Feb 1-21 is 34)
It's been a very mild winter

If UCLA gets him along with DTR, I'm just gonna laugh.
That school has been a thorn at our side for years now.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:30 PM ^
First double post in 4+ years!!!
February 21st, 2017 at 9:30 PM ^
This one hurts. Badly. He was shaping up to be a monster next year and is going to be an NFL TE.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:47 PM ^
I don't recall a tight end that could block like him combined with the athleticism and hands. His upside was something I was really looking forward to watching develop in a run-pass threat offense.
Best of luck to him.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:33 PM ^
Well at least we didnt redshirt him last season.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:36 PM ^
Asiasiasi?
Oy, oy, oy...
February 21st, 2017 at 11:42 PM ^
Is that a rugby reference???
February 22nd, 2017 at 12:12 AM ^
It's an Australian reference.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:37 PM ^
Good Luck Devin. Hope all works out for you.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:37 PM ^
Damn it. This one hurts. He showed a ton of potential this year and he had starter written all over him next year.
Best of luck to him wherever he goes. Hope he finds what he's looking for.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:39 PM ^
We hardly knew ye. Best of luck in whatever's next.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:39 PM ^
As it was exciting when he committed so late last year. If he really misses family and California, can't blame him. He's gonna make a West Coast team extremely happy. We move on as well.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:40 PM ^
Really too bad for both parties. He was going to be used a ton next year. Sucks for him as well to have to sit out a year too.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:45 PM ^
Man, I really really liked his game, sucks he's leaving. But if he wasn't happy for what ever reason it's the best for both him and Michigan. Good luck Devin!
February 21st, 2017 at 9:52 PM ^
We have some depth there, but he was a rising star.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:52 PM ^
I guess he doesn't want to be a champion.
February 21st, 2017 at 11:39 PM ^
I'm sure you're a fantastic human being, but comments like this might lead people to believe you're a dick
February 22nd, 2017 at 5:29 PM ^
After all these years, I finally realized that Bo was being a dick when he made his his champion qoute.
February 22nd, 2017 at 6:56 AM ^
Because a program that hasn't won a championship [of any kind] in the last twelve (12) seasons can really talk about a transferring player not wanting to be a champion.
February 21st, 2017 at 9:53 PM ^
ugh... this one sucks.
was hoping for better news
February 21st, 2017 at 9:58 PM ^
He was the John Wick of TEs.
Da fuckin Boogeyman
February 21st, 2017 at 11:30 PM ^
On the other hand, hope the Gentry project comes to fruition
February 21st, 2017 at 9:59 PM ^
good luck to you.
February 21st, 2017 at 10:09 PM ^
Well I met him briefly once through some other players, and when any other player with headphones on would be listening to rap, he was listening to stand up comedy and couldn't stop bursting out laughing. He just seemed like a super nice kid who loved to laugh. I didn't even find out who he was listening to. I hope everything works out.
I can't picture the plays anymore but i think he made some incredible catches in his All Star game. Combine that with being a monster trucktaur that crushes everything in his path, he's probably gonna be an all time great!
February 21st, 2017 at 10:20 PM ^
This sucks. He was the best offensive player in our 2016 class, IMO, though Chris Evans started making a pretty good case, too.
February 21st, 2017 at 10:31 PM ^
this fn hurts. Best to him. He's just a freak athlete, dude was pushing around Senior B1G DE all year. He's a rare talent. Finally, I think many had a feeling that it'd be a possibility for him to go back home. I thought he was here to stay but only after his "I just fell in love with snow" tweet after a game. Possible family issues/pulls, a best friend possibly pulling him, homesickness, etc. He always seemed like a high probability transfer home kind of kid. Best to him.
February 21st, 2017 at 10:51 PM ^
dude was a T-34 with soft hands.
February 21st, 2017 at 10:57 PM ^
it was fun while it lasted
February 21st, 2017 at 10:57 PM ^
I'd like to know the real story.
