GERG CAN'T HEAR YOU CUZ HE'S GOT SUPERBOWL RINGS PLUGGING HIS EARS
For christ's sake, some of you negative nillies need to take a chill pill. Remember what our offense looked like with sheridan at the helm? And now we're rolling up 500 per week. Give the man a chance to get some freaking players in. He's a fine coordinator working with the equivalent of three or four sheridan's in the backfield and probably a couple other threets on the 2 deep.
What we need are players! We need to recruit better players! We need to keep them from transferring or declaring early when no one is going to draft them. We need to keep them busy and out of trouble with the law.
And you debbie downers are not helping by going overboat with your stupid "analysis" of the defense. The man has coached defenses to TWO Superbowl wins. WHAT THE F*** HAVE YOU DONE?
There has been a lot of progress with this defense. No, the numbers don't show it. But it's there if you look hard enough. And in another year or two it will be so apparent that you arseh0*es will owe everyone on this board, all of our potential recruits, and the entire football team a huge apology.
To any potential DB's out there, COME TO MICHIGAN! Charles Woodson, Leon Hall, Marlin Jackson, Ty Law, Etc, etc, etc all did and it was the stage for them to shine. We've got tons of playing time available for anyone who wants to come in and work hard. Please come to Michigan, just to shut up the idiots on this board.

Fuck you GERG sucks. Do you think barely beating INDIANA is cutting it?
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:28 PM ^
he needs better players to cut it. but aside from denard getting hurt and going cold in the 2nd half, the game basically unfolded how said it would.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
And why don't we have better players? We are fucking MICHIGAN. If Indiana is outrecruiting us then we need to make some damn changes.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
Find the flux capacitor, go back to 2006, and get us some 5th-year senior cornerbacks, 'k?
http://rivals.yahoo.com/michigan/football/recruiting/commitments/2006/m…
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
if he had Donovan Warren and Troy Woolfolk starting at corner. It would be a totally different defense. GERG didn't have anything to do with that. The Michigan D played well enough in the second half, and they won. Laying blame for all the defense's struggles on GERG is like blaming a race car driver who loses because his car isn't as fast. How many big, 50+ yard plays did they give up?
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:36 PM ^
Yeah, because our defense was so good with Donovan Warren and Troy Woolfolk last year.
The race car was built by GERG and RR, so its their fault if it is not fast enough.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
because returning two senior starters at corner is always a bad thing. Maybe you should take a look at "Serta" James Rogers and his pillowy cushion before you cover your monitor in GERG-hating spittle.
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
Haha...well done on the Serta nickname. That will make his 20-yd yards of cushion at least somewhat entertaining. +1 to you sir.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
and angry, imo.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:49 PM ^
yes I am angry, and if you loved Michigan you would be too. We deserve better than this.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:50 PM ^
I know it sucks right now, but it's going to get better. And frankly, you're not helping.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
I am pretty sure we all love Michigan, not angry, just conerned. I felt I was going to have a heart attack at some points throughout the game, but it's not GERG's fault.
October 2nd, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
While it isn't 100% GERG's fault, it is schematically his fault. If your only rushing three there isn't any reason why any part of the field isn't covered. I personally am one who believes that pressure makes the pipe burst. I would put our guys up in the faces of receivers, instead of giving them so much of a cushion and just bring heat. This would cause us to give up some plays, but IMO we would create more turnovers as a result. I will say that my heart was beating strong just like everyone else's, but when they didn't go for two, I was relieved because I thought that we would get down and score without the pressure of score or lose. Sorry I'm rambling. In conclusion, we can scheme to make this defense better than they are currently playing.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
No need to be angry they are just kids!!! Just remember this and enjoy the emotional rollercoaster of 2010.
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
"We?" "deserve?"
I'm not sure what exactly you feel like you're entitled to. I'm sorry you can't enjoy the win, especially after the past few years.
Take it easy, Champ. Why don't you sit this next one out, stop talking for a while.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:29 PM ^
I understand we have had some bad years lately, but damn, i=this was Indiana it should never be this close.
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:11 PM ^
Be such a damn baby.
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
UNACCEPTABLE.
Please ask for your money back, and trade in your Michigan fandom for another team.
kthx c ya
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
Aren't those type of entitled/arrogant statements usually reserved for Domer fans?
You may not like the amount points our defense surrenders and the manner in which they surrender them, but the defense is playing hard and determined. Like everyone else, I wish God blessed these guys on defense with more/better speed, agility, size, and tackling ability, but I at least get the sense that they along with the rest of the team are wearing their winged helmets with a sense of pride.
The defense may not be playing great football right now, but they certainly aren't underachieving as individuals, and they are representing Michigan well otherwise. It's not like they are playing poorly because they're mailing it in like the Tigers.
They are division 1 athletes; criticizing their tackling/schemes/coverage/play recognition is fair game as they somewhat signed up for it, but your tone sucks. They deserve better than that bullshit statement.
October 2nd, 2010 at 9:19 PM ^
damn son just stick a - in front of your previous mgopoints why doint you
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:44 PM ^
not to bash kids, but they are using MOPAR parts.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
Are you watching the same Michigan that has had losing seasons in back to back years? or maybe the one that has lost countless players (I've really lost count) from the defensive side of the ball over the last three years let alone this year?
That arrogance that we are MICHIGAN is what got us into this predicament in the first place. Maybe take note of how Denard has carried himself on and off the field and remain humble about past success as well as this season's success. This team will go through growing pains, but they are moving in the right direction. Rome wasn't built overnight.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:28 PM ^
"UNACCEPTABLE" /enlarged prostrate
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
Yes, I think Michigan winning football games cuts it just fine.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:32 PM ^
Sweet first double post bro!
Getting too excited cuz my team is winning I guess :x
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:44 PM ^
Yeah I was SOOOO pissed at GERG when he made us fumble on the one yard line when we were about to go up 14. What an asshole.
October 2nd, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
GERG also made our offense score so quickly that the defense was out there for 40 minutes today. Man, its a good thing players don't get tired.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
yay overreacting to an overreaction. i agree though
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
Good post.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
Thank the lord for RichRod, Denard, and our receivers. Any predictions on the point spread next week? lol
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
isn't RR ultimately responsible for the D as well?
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
Valid points but screaming and yelling at people for screaming and yelling is like putting gasoline on a fire.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
I think last year's secondary class was fantastic, give it a year or two and they could be pretty good. I see this defense as being really close to breaking out in a good way. An extra bit of coverage and we get more sacks and turnovers.
But totally agree on the relax notion...
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
Question: Do you think Jeff Casteel would be doing that much better or is this a defense that is just not suited for the BIG 10?
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:39 PM ^
Yes because Casteel and RR already had a chemistry and that probably would have helped having an entity you know what is capable of instead of having the unknown.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
How did they get that chemistry? GERG has been with us for not even a full 2 years yet. C'mon, I know you are concerned, we all are, but ripping the guy isn't going to help.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:26 PM ^
Cool story, brah.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
Wow. And you want others to calm down.
Mods: time to begin crowd control.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
I agree.
BEFORE Woolfolk went out with an injury, Phil Steele said that we had the youngest defense of any team that we will face all year. Our secondary is full of young players and a few relatively inexperienced older players. I think our defense would struggle no matter who was the DC.
To the guy who said that Robinson should be fired...It would be foolish to continue the UofM DC merry-go-round and fire Robinson with the youngest Defense in the BigTen. 2007 English, 2008 Schaffer, 2009-10 Robinson, 2011 someone new? Wouldn't this add more confusion to the learning process?
4 DCs in 5 years? Give Robinson another year and let's see what he can do with a more experienced Defense.
The only thing that can stop this staff from building a machine is the lack of patience from people ignoring the youth of this team.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:48 PM ^
I just want to see some improvement, and I have seen none. That is all..inexperience and lack of depth or not all of the units should almost be in mid-season form. No question where our offense is, but if this is what our defense is going to look like all year with no improvement then that falls on the coaching staff. Those DB's don't play with any confidence and the lack of pressure on the qb hasn't been anything to write home about. We made Ben Chappell look like Peyton Manning and be compared to Peyton during the broadcast...Our best defense tonight was Barwis' conditioning program. Our defense had their offense gassed and began to take advantage a couple of times. Game ball to Denard, JR Hemmingway, The entire OL, and Mike Martin. Honorable mention : V.Smith, R.Roundtree, Mouton/Kovacs
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
I'm a highly touted DB prospect and because of you I'm choosing Michigan! GERG should thank you
October 2nd, 2010 at 9:01 PM ^
Really?
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
By the way, Indiana has the # 12 offense in the country.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
Phew! Well then I guess we have nothing to be concerned about!
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:36 PM ^
they played anyone before us and I really wouldn't say our D provided a challenge. Also think they also had a week off at some point.
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:37 PM ^
You've looked at the teams they've played so far this season, right?
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
...want to come within sniffing distance of the steaming pile of shit that is our defense. Sorry.
The truth hurts.
No Ha Ha. No Gant. They don't dare go to M and be swallowed up by the great black hole of SUCK.
Let's talk about the offense!!
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
Pretty cool that you know what recruits are thinking. Can you tell us where Dee Hart is going?
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:31 PM ^
why wouldn't you come here it's nearly a guarantee you will play and it's MICHIGAN
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
Every other school is telling these kids that the M defensive staff is clueless and won't be able to develop them for the NFL.
Our staff's ability to develop talent is currently in question. I'm not saying they CAN'T do it. I'm saying it is a legitimate question. And recruits don't usually like to gamble with their future.
