Breaking news: Matt Millen hires Charlie Weis as new head coach. Front Butt hires Bollman/Greg Davis as co-OCs and promotes Gerg to DatBullDC4Life with a contract that doubles Kirk Ferentz's buyout clause.

I'm not sure they know what they're about to get into. The only thing worse than giving up 550 yards on the ground to BYU is convincing yourself that GERG is the solution to it. Those poor souls...

Edit: Maybe Texas will go for Narduzzi, at least as a DC in the offseason? Lord knows they need some help and Narduzzi would get them there

There isn't ANYONE in the country that wants to be the Texas DC?  Anyone?  They could have grabbed any successful high school DC in Austin and done better than GERG.

Oh dear, the folks at Burnt Orange Nation are trying to talk themselves off the ledge when they should be drinking Jim Jones's Kool Aid.

"Michigan didn’t have the athletes on the defensive side of the ball. They were usually in position to make the play, the right play was “usually” called but you could tell they couldn’t match the speed or athleticism of their opponents."

"That was a bad hire. It was a clash bringing RichRod to Ann Arbor and it caused a messed up situation. I have trouble pinning anything on Robinson."

"This was the only credible move that could have been made and I held about 2% hope that it would actually happen."

Mack Brown knew he needed more points on the board at Texas Memorial Stadium, and decided to just hire GERG instead of improve the offense.

"It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em."

rings from his time with the Broncos that keeps on getting GERG jobs, there is no other explanation. That is about the only point in his career where he looked halfway competent as a DC. Either that or Mack Brown has a thing for stuffed animals.

If hiring GERG isn't the end of the line for Mack Brown, I don't what is.
