Bama game is CBS.
Not a chance on a likely unranked USC vs Stanford.
And does anyone care about FSU/Miami?
I think it is Ann Arbor. +
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:15 AM ^
forbide anyone talk about how stupid Miami-FSU is compared to MSU-UM..last time I did I got...well you know.
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:48 AM ^
If it's not here this week and we beat Sparty, could they be here for a 6-0 - 5-1, Michigan Iowa matchup?

titans in the Big House. Both are undefeated and in the top 25 and are coming off of big wins in the Big Ten opener plus you have two strong quarterbacks going head to head hell where else would you want to go for Gameday!
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:35 AM ^
Michigan and MSU are by no means titans yet on the college football landscape. They're more like the younger upstart generation of deities trying to prove their worth and unseat those old grumpy titans.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:10 AM ^
Probably one of the top games, and I think they would chose AA if Dantonio will be there.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:10 AM ^
If Gameday is here next weekend, it's for US. Not Sparty. Just sayin'.
October 3rd, 2010 at 3:12 AM ^
and more highlights.
October 3rd, 2010 at 10:24 AM ^
Well, the Dantonio story is pretty compelling... Lots of storylines makes for better TV
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:13 AM ^
South Carolina is the biggest threat to Alabama before the Iron Bowl, assuming that you believe South Carolina is better than LSU. Furthermore, there's the ESPN focus on the SEC and both Michigan and MSU are not viewed as contenders for a BCS bowl game.
EDIT: Never mind, the Bama game is on CBS. Unless they want to go out west, it'll be here.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:12 AM ^
If they DON't come here, the only logical reason is that Herbie is too scared to come to tree town.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:19 AM ^
This game will be very interesting, cause really.. How good is MSU?
Wisconsing barely beat ASU 20-21, who is now 2-3? After losing to unranked Oregon state, even though OSU lost to TCU and Boise, but still. Interesting to see how this game will play out.
At least we don't have to worry about Cousins throwing 65 times and having 5 different WR or TE who are 6'4 or better
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:38 AM ^
msu's 3 starting WR are 6'2'' and all there TE's are over 6'5''
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:38 AM ^
Just because they have big WRs and TEs doesn't mean that they're going to throw a school record number of times. The reason that we know that they won't (even though it's obviously our biggest achilles heel) is because Dantonio learned under Tressel and Tressel would never give up on the run.
I fully expect MSU to throw the ball a lot, but by the end IU had abandoned the run and that's something MSU will not do. Besides, I don't know if any of the MSU receivers are as good as Doss was yesterday.
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:21 AM ^
I agree, other than a butter and cheese fed running back tipping the scales at over 618 lbs I dont think wisconsin has much. I have been suspect of their pre-season/early-season hype all year and it didnt suprise me that younger bro beat them.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:20 AM ^
My first big time Michigan game and GameDay might be there. That's a-maize-ing.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:25 AM ^
I love it when Desmond stops by for a visit. He can bring his Heisman by to give Denard an idea of how heavy it will be.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:42 AM ^
Maybe they can go out before the game and practice their Poses.
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:22 AM ^
3 Heismans in 20 years would be pretty sweet. Go Blue!
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:27 AM ^
I was just thinking the same thing about Gameday coming to AA. Both teams will be top 20 and great storylines - huge intra-state matchup, Denard, Michigan back?, MSU finally putting it together?, Dantonio, RR... This is a huge game that should again be a shootout. Also, the game is ABC/ESPN, per MGoBlue.com, so there's that.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:27 AM ^
Unfortunately, towards the end of the ND-Boston College game, I am pretty sure I heard Matt Millen and Quinn Kessenich(?) say that they were looking forward to being in Ann Arbor for the game, which means no Gameday. Maybe they will change things around though.
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:49 AM ^
Even if Gameday came here, which I think they will, we wouldn't get Herbie and Mushburger calling our game anyways. They always do the 8pm ABC/ESPN game, so after Gameday, Herbstreit would likely fly to either USC-Stanford or Miami/FSU.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:27 AM ^
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure I heard the lady host of College Football Live on espn2 after the USC-Wash game say right as they were cutting away to sportscenter that next week they'd be at the Michigan-Michigan State game.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:28 AM ^
...is a bigger story nationally, so I would expect they'd get the nod. I could see them waiting to see if we beat MSU and they show up for the Iowa game.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:42 AM ^
No. 1 is important and all, but Denard is a huge national topic. Add on top of that the environment of a rivalry game, Dantonio's health situation, and the general national interest in Michigan and I think we make a great candidate for Gameday. Besides, Gameday has already been down south 3 times this year. Then once in Boise and today in Oregon. I know there's an SEC bias, but they like to spread Gameday around, and this is probably their last opportunity to come to Michigan this year.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:28 AM ^
I can't wait for this game, it should be great! When was the last time both teams were undefeated coming into the matchup? Anyone?
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:38 AM ^
1999.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:33 AM ^
I wouldn't be surprised if they went to the Swamp for that game given the love affair ESPN has with the SEC. But if they are smart they'll be here to watch a great game.
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:42 AM ^
I think that ESPN, along with every other college football fan, has realized that LSU is the biggest 5-0 fraud of the entire college football landscape and is just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Even though Florida was tremendously overrated going into the 'Bama last night, they should still drop a bomb on LSU. If they don't, that's not validation that LSU is good and Les Miles knows how to manage the clock, but just that Florida has fallen a long way down.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:34 AM ^
Tailgate at Fingerle's Lot
Wild Rover will be there. Everyone is invited.
The whole day will be crazy. Be prepared.
October 3rd, 2010 at 12:47 AM ^
Dantonio to state's DC: "OK, I want you to come up with a gameplan to slow down an offense that just got 12.8 yards per play today. They are 1st or 2nd in total offense in the country. I've got film of 45 plays they ran today, and last week their Heisman trophy candidate front-runner played about 7 minutes. Did I mention he's gone over 200 yards rushing and passing twice this season? Oh, and don't bother checking last year's film because he's a first year starter."
State's DC: "I think I just wet myself."

Someone needs to make a sign that says, LOCK YOUR COMPUTERS, THE SPARTANS ARE HERE! Wisconsin doesn't look like Wisconsin lately, MSU will have a ton of penalties (we've had a lot lately too), Cousins will throw 2 INT, Michigan D will play to the level of their competition next week and force one crucial fumble, Keshawn martin and larry caper will have big games, reciever/runningback will step up to give denard a boost and Michigan will win, GO BLUE!
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:36 AM ^
LOCK YOUR CPU'S
AND DORM ROOMS
SPARTY'S IN TOWN
October 3rd, 2010 at 2:01 AM ^
I think they'll be in Ann Arbor. They've got the story about Denard's amazing season, plus they could talk about Dantonio's recovery because I think he'll probably be back for next week. There are more storylines for this game than for any other game in the country.

I'm no medical professional, but I'd think that the combination of a heart attack with blood clots would preclude you from coming back to a very high stress job in a high stress environment that also takes a physical toll on you. If someone that is a medical professional would like to chime in, I'd be interested in your opinion.
October 3rd, 2010 at 2:15 AM ^
I don't think they'll go to South Carolina. (Not that) SC already has a loss, contrasted to having two undefeated teams here. Plus you have to add in that this is a huge rivalry, as we are State's biggest rival (though not the converse of course), while SC-Alabama is not really a rivalry. I remember hearing an interview with Brock Huard not too long ago about how ESPN likes to rotate Gameday a lot and involve new teams. Alabama was sort of featured on Gameday when they were down in Fayatteville for the Bama-ARK game a couple of weeks ago. One could certainly say that the Bama-UF game was a bigger game than OR-Stanford, but they chose to head this week to Eugene instead of Tuscaloosa. I think they'll be in Ann Arbor.
October 3rd, 2010 at 9:52 AM ^
I think that ESPN realized that Florida is overrated and subsequently didn't go to 'Bama. When your center and QB continually have problems with the snap, that does not bode well for the rest of your season.
On the flipside, Oregon-Stanford have both been juggernauts this season. Besides, I think that most people thought would be a more interesting and fun game to watch the UF v. 'Bama (and that ended up being very true).
Since Gameday doesn't visit the same campus twice, I'd bet that they might be waiting for go to 'Bama for the Auburn game since that'll be the last team that'll have a good shot at beating them (UF or SC will probably be the SEC East champion and in this scenario 'Bama has already beat both of them so I'd fully expect them to do it again in the SECCG). That indicates that Gameday will be in Ann Arbor this Saturday.
October 3rd, 2010 at 3:33 AM ^
ESPN listed UM vs msu as the top game to watch next week, both undefeated, both ranked, and Denard is the most exciting player in CFB right now.
October 3rd, 2010 at 6:41 AM ^
Hopefully it happens
Should be a good one next week, I'd be really surprised if Gameday went somewhere else. IF they did go somewhere else, it'd likely be whatever the game is at 8 pm (isn't the Mich Mich St game on at 3:30?)
October 3rd, 2010 at 10:47 AM ^
I think Gameday will be in Ann Arbor for the Michigan/Michigan State showdown. Two undefeated, top 20 teams. Lots of storylines.
Alabama/South Carolina is on CBS, thus I doubt ESPN will make the trip to Columbia. They'll go to Ann Arbor for a game covered by the ESPN family of networks. Not to mention I think it's more of an intriguing matchup anyways. The winner of this game on Saturday has a legitimate shot to at least be a contender for the Big Ten title.
October 3rd, 2010 at 11:06 AM ^
They're going to SC. I'm fine with this. I think that their game has more national title implications. Plus, it's the SEC!!
October 3rd, 2010 at 11:12 AM ^
Just saw a Tweet, from ESPN: Gameday is going to South Carolina vs. Alabama....
