Game thread time! GO BLUE
That's an unlucky break but also poor baserunning.
Can someone explain what happened? Not able to have the game on so I’m confused how there is a single on a force out at second
Bullock was stealing. we put the ball in play and it hit him before getting to a defender. Looked like a straight steal so he didn't peek at the batter to know where the ball was. Should have easily been avoided.
Thanks!
what are the odds?
What's going on with the "oven mitts" our base runners are wearing?
Seems like a bit of an advantage if you can touch the base from farther away when they try a pick off or just any slide but I have no idea what the purpose is
it is to protect their hands while sliding head first. Blomgren broke his finger in regionals when he had to dive into a bag with the hand that wasn't protected.
Thanks!
Protects the hands from injury on the base paths.. you see the speedier runners wear them all the time in the majors. Also makes the hand "bigger" thus gets to the base faster
Fashion statement. Don't listen to the other guys.
Can they please stop getting lucky on every single thing
UGH! stop swinging at shit!
This game is going to last 5 hours
damn.... i don't like the strikezone this guy is calling
Need to take advantage of these bases-loaded opportunities.
Edit: There ya go. Thank you, Franklin. Great at-bat.
we like scoring with 2 down.
Getting lots of dudes on base. Going to have to start taking advantage of that.
Just like that!
JESSE!!!!
Insurance runs!!! 6-3
Hell yeah!
Got all our runs back, and this TX Tech reliever is spent.
CLUTCH!
Yesse JESSE!!!
Lets go!!!
Imagine if Brewer could get a hit?
I actually think you make them throw the runner out at the plate, with two down, instead of holding him up at third.... but we're good, we'll take those 2.
I didn't see the play happen, but old time baseball strategery hates making the 3rd out in a scoring position.
he stopped at third rather than trying to score. I think a good relay gets him by a couple steps. I like taking our chances with B1G player of the year even if it didn't work out in our favor.
I agree holding him with 1 or no outs, but with two down, i'd make them make a play.
That ball didn't even clear the outfielders. Scoring from first on a ball that gets cut off before the track is always going to be a stretch. Making them make the play is one thing but getting thrown out by 4 steps is silly.
My initial thought was that it was not going to be close at home. If it was going to be a close play I agree with you.
Let's mow 'em down and continue grinding that pitching staff!
Need Kauffmann to find himself this inning
Needs to stop getting behind in the count
Got the leadoff guy for the first time.
I hate complaining about refs/umps, but it feels like the strike zone is a little variable out there today...
It is
Overall I feel like it's been in our favor so far. one or two guys could have been called for strike three on us that turned into runs.
That's baseball and college baseball is even more variable. Calling balls and strikes is extremely difficult, and the best at it get a lot wrong and they are at the next level. It is what it is, just gotta battle through it.
BIG inning.
What a play!
"wow, what a fucking play"
Karl
I can’t watch. Is it still 6-3 good guys?
Yes, bottom of 4th. Runner at first, one out.
A run or two here and we'll really be sitting pretty
Great play by Blomgren, means their best player is leading off rather than batting with runners on.
They're bailing Karl out
Nice for Kauffmann to get a 12-pitch inning. Would love to see him get through the 6th with this lead.
Am absolutely loving the defense so far.
