Friday Night Football

Virginia up on Maryland 7 - 0.

Michigan will have 100,000+ show up for a meaningless night game against a MAC team tomorrow.  Meanwhile, half the stadium is empty for Maryland's night game against what used to be a main rival for them.

This is why they are never going to be the DMV recruiting juggernaut they think they deserve to be.  Their support is a mile wide and an inch deep.  Everyone wears Terps stuff around the area, but nobody can name a single starting player, much less come out for a night game.

I hope Brian is watching this game because there was a really nice flea flicker to set up UVA’s touchdown.

Also, Maryland looks like ass so far. Henby is really good. The rest of the team? Not so much, st least not so far.

Maryland's last 2 Friday night non-COVID home games (PSU 2019, Iowa 2021) didn't go so well.

They were outscored by a combined 110-14!!!!  And that's with Iowa as one of the foes!

They actually did WIN their Friday night game (Minnesota) in the COVID year, in front of a paid attendance of 0.  Maybe that's why their fans are staying away.

But TD Maryland, now 14-7.

Looks like Bama is benching Milroe for Tommy's boy, Tyler Buchner. Not a total surprise after Milroe was pretty mediocre against Texas.

Buchner might be better but he's not any good either IMO.

Gardner will also be calling the North Dakota @ Boise State game tomorrow, which has a 12 Noon ET (10 AM Mountain!) kick-off.

So, what chartered jet is transporting him from Maryland to Idaho?  None, because he's in Charlotte, NC calling both games off the monitor.  Kind of lame, but that is Fox Sports saving some money.

But you gotta appreciate the Maryland game day experience in College Park.

I have no idea how good Jack Tuttle is, but I'm wondering if the coaching staff should keep an eye on Virginia's QB as a possible trading deadline acquisition for backup QB.  Hopefully he'll eliminate some freshman mistakes with a few more games under his belt.

Edit: Now that he's thrown 3 interceptions in...what? the blink of an eye?...maybe he needs at least a full season of experience before we consider trading  for him.

Other than Venables (and it's debatable whether to even include him since he was already established at OU) is there a former Dabo-era Clemson coordinator that doesn't suck butt as a head coach?
